I am in the market for a short shifter. I have used a B&M on my friends FD and it is awesome. I was looking around on ebay and saw a couple of others (see Links below). the other no name brands are like 1/3 the price. has anybody used a non B&M short shifter with good results? Also, whats up with the buzzing proble with the B&M shifters, can this be resulved easily? THANKS!

I have the real B&M and it works great. I don't notice any buzzing etc because the car is already too loud so something that small doesn't make a difference in sound for me.
The ebay shifters seem good but I havn't experienced it first hand. I always hear good and bad about them so I ended up getting the B&M.

Replica B&M is just as good as the original, just needs a little grease in the bearing before install.

B&M has 2 versions of their short shifter. The first batch had a resonating problem at higherspeeds, around 5kish, you'd hear it. So, after gettin complaints of that, they developed a new version. This new version eliminated the highspeed resonating, and worked the same as before. With this new shortshifter, you would be able to transform yourself into Tsuchiya, and initiate incredible drifts like no one's business.

i've had my B&M for 2+ years now and it still vibrates in the higher rpms but nowhere near as bad as when it was new. it must be one of the first ones. it's really stiff at first but it feels looser after you've driven for a couple or so weeks. if i had to do it over i'd buy a B&M again.

B&M no doubts about it. It's the best. If you search there is another thread reviewing the c's, nismo, b&m, and ebay ones.
I have a B&M on mine and i thought it was the 2nd batch but it makes noise so i guess it isnt. The noise isnt till higher RPMs so its all good. Ive felt the c's in my friends car and it is kinda sloppy, but not as bad as the ebay specials. B&M = bestestitties

I have the B&M v2 and it was worth every penny. It doesn't make any noise, but shakes like it's aroused when the rpm's are up. The install is almost painless except for the two bolts that you need to loosen from under the car above the tranny.

I've got an eBay Version Select knockoff short shifter and I love the feel. Not as short as the B&M, but has good feel and is plenty short. Probably saves some transmission wear in the mean time. The feel and throw reminds me a lot of my S2000.
