:hyper: :hyper: I went out earlier this morning..the car ran fine..temp ok..everything fine...I went back out a couple of hours later...and I realize the engine temp was a bit higher than normal...just about a half tick over..I figured it was cuz I had on the a/c...but then also realized the car warmed up a lot faster than usual..I turned off the a/c then continued...at which time the car just started shooting up to H everytime I reved...I stopped...checked radiator...fluid..oil...then started again..only made it to the gas station across the street..I bought some more oil and antifreeze and put them in...the car started for a little bit fine..I was in a school zone so couldnt push it much..but the second I gave it a slight rev it shot right back up again at each one....I need help seriously finding out what this is..I searched but the problem doesnt come up clearly...I think it might be my water pump died...cuz my p/s has been cauing a wholelotta problems and probly killed it...any truth in the water pump theory...please help quick...this is my daily driver...92 s13 fastback. :hyper: :hyper:
your explanation sucked. try again.
every time you rev the temp shoots up and then back down? you made it sound like your guage is faulty.

everytime i rev the temp goes up and continues to go up slowly...when i rev it makes it go up faster
replace the water pump then, dont drive it or you will be looking at alot more serious damage

Yeah unless you want a blown headgasket you need to park your car and fix it.
Things to examine/think about...
-Your radiator/cooling system could have air trapped in it. Turn on the heater, open the air bleed screw (near thermostat and throttlebody) and fill radiator with water unless it runs out of the bleeder screw.
-Your fan clutch is shot, and your fan is no longer cooling the radiator at idle/low speeds.
-Your thermostat might be stuck closed, you can remove it and test it by dropping it into a pot of very hot water (it should open)
-Could be a busted water pump like you suspect. Remove it and check it out.
I'd look at those simple things first, they should give you some indication where the problem lies.
