I see 3 different brake boosters listed for the ' 97 S14:
Auto
Manual w/ ABS
Manual w/o ABS
I swapped from an auto to a manual so I have an auto brake booster.
I also upgraded to Q45 front brakes (Porterfield R4-S pads, if it matters).
I'm told I have the biggest possible brake booster (came with auto), and also the biggest Master Cylinder as well.
Is this correct? Is this the best possible setup ?

You do have the biggest, however maybe not the best. The auto booster is a dual chamber, so the pedal feel is slightly different than with a single chamber. Some people don't agree with it, some do.
If you like it, leave it alone. That's all that matters.

You could also run into clearance issues if you decide to go with a top-mount turbo setup. The larger auto booster has been known to interfere with turbo hardware.

The car stopped fine at Buttonwillow and Thunderhill, and no turbo plans in the works, so I'll keep the booster I have now.

Everything works out then.:)
