I have a s13 sr20det redtop and for some reason if I leave the wastegate actuator open, I'm only boosting 10 psi. Even with a manual boost controller on there and open all the way, I'm still getting 8-10 psi. I'm thinking its my wastegate crapping out on me. Is this true or is it something else. Thanks in advance.

Normally a wastegate actuator is going to fail in such a way as to cause uncontrollably high boost. Aside from the rare occasion where it might have stuck open to some degree. Pick up a mity vac pump and put pressure to it until it opens, and check that it is able to move through it's range of motion.

my mbc is hooked up to wastegate. If mbc is open all the way like you said, my car boosts 10psi also. Closing the mbc will raise the boost.

Sorry, not sure what you meant by leaving wastegate actuator open. Try closing your boost controller to see if your boost raises.

I'll definately have to try that out.

You usually have to have a hose going from the wastegate actuator to the stock piping that goes to the intercooler. Some people prefer to leave it open without a cap or anything.

Anyone else got any suggestions or tips?

My Guess it's a bleed valve righ, your wastegate has a set pressure point stock t25 is 7or8 depending how new or used. No wastegate signal will cause higher boost and may result in premature wastegate failure you kow because it just pops open fully no creep thats why wastegate have to be replaced or upgraded to external for race applications. Using a boost controller that stop the signal from reaching the wastegate for racing or sporty activity on a use wastegate I wouldn't recommend unless you can afford it. (not saying it can't be done or shouldn't) You can use the pressure pump with a gauge to see what your wastegate will open at that is your stock boost(WG nipple), Pressurize the turbo to find max boost with out the WG signal you can safely open a bleedvalve all the way if the WG open at a safe psi i'd say 12

You might check any gaskets associated with the wastegate, and also your bov adjustment can cause your boost to stay at a certain level

It's the stock BOV. I don't think there is any adjust that can be made to the stock one.
