http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/20061249/Images/DIAMONDPROJECTOR.gif

I think some of the light will go through the projector, but, the shield for the light will be there sooo....... What do you guys think? I want to go HID's in my S13. I searched and found nothing on these housings.

My opinion?

RICE!!

Other then that, I'd say go with actual Projector replacements or Sil-Face if you really feel you need HID. But I'd stay away from those APCish looking ricer lights.

^^^ I agree with him, avoid those atrocities with everything you got

Silvia face is out of the picture. This is just my daily driver and I don't want to spend that much on it. Which projector replacements are you talking about? Are you talking about what Halo did? With the 90mm projectors and the high beams? Thanks, Charles

Yes, the Hella 90mm Modules are an excellent replacement. The HID modules are more expensive, but if you're gonna do it, do it right the first time.

This is what I got on my car and i'm very very happy with the result. Better than the original halogen lights imo......

That is Hella's 200mm, H4 housings, Part Number 72206... get them from Mike at clearcorners.com

I think I might go with the Hella 200mm. And then get some H4 Raybrig 5000K blubs. Seems like a better option at this point.

Phlip

^^^ I more than sign off on that statement, I will likely do Raybrigs whenever one of these hella bulbs blows, either that or order some OSRAM Silverstars

When you guys say the Hella 200mm are these what you are talking about?

Phlip

Those are the very ones, I ordered mine from Mike, lightning fast delivery and all of that... I got the European ones, I don't think he had the US DOT ones when I ordered mine, this was in November

No, I haven't gotten around to photographing them yet... Perhaps I shall do that one of these days.

^^^ Paying attention to the posts in the thread, are we... That sentiment has been offered AND agreed with by others, including people WITH the Hellas (me) then agreed to by the starter of the thread and at least one more person coming into the thread.

I bet you could hack that one up and install a Bosch Xenon D2S HID Projector in it. The projector ring that is in it can be used to support and align the projector.

because of the result of the hid kit, i've finally redid my headlight with hella 90mm units.
and like many other have said, either do it right or don't do it at all.

Of course you're gonna get a LOT of glare if you stand directly in front of the car at eye level with the lights....

Alright, well he's the one who did it correctly, and you are the one asking about the biggest pos apc rice lights. Maybe if you'd searched around about HID you would have realized that those things will be shit to put HID in...

Oh and the "panda" comment hurt my feelings, please take it back. :jerkit:

Conversion lenses + hid kit.. maybe even plus retrofit.. that's about the cost of a silvia front end.

But even a Saliva front end is Halogen. So you would still need the HID retrofit. Those lenses can't be that much and and Silvia conversion is not just the lamps it's also the fenders, hood, bumper, ect...

man I've had 3 sets of HID's, 1st 240, civic hatch, and my bike. So don't talk to me like I don't know about hid's. I searched about this housings because I couldn't find anything on them. The purpose of this thread was to see if anyone had used them. So stop being an ass and acting like you know everything. :madfawk:

I went with raybirg *burg whatever* housing for h4's and got h4's and just upgraded the harness or whatever you may want to call that wiring and it sure as hell beats anything you get on the store shelves that are made for the popups already.

240silvia
09-07-2005, 06:20 PM
yea that seems to be what everyone has done. How did you go about upgrading the harness?

one thing aobut those cheap APC housings is they leak.. so u dont want ur $$$ HID in that thing w/o some security. I would go w/ the Hella Housings and a HID projector ghetto rigged inside.. its want i wanna do if i find 500.00 in my pocket one day

kandyflip445
09-08-2005, 01:08 AM
If you put a projector in a hella housing it would defeat the purpose of the projector because the lens is what directs the light. The light that is already directed would go through the lens of the housing and cause glare and whatnot. If you did want to stick some projectors in a H4 housing I would use one with a clear, smooth lens.

Do you have any pictures and information of your previous HID setup?
Just because you've installed a "kit" doesn't mean you know everything about HID. There's more to it then just lights.

And how am I a dick? I answered your question to the best of my knowledge.
your question: "Do you guys think these are HID Friendly?"

If you're going to spend money on hid; do it right the first time -like everyone else said. HID is not cheap.
