Anyone? I don't meet many car guys that like this stuff. Also, anyone into classical and opera? I hardly know anyone my age who likes it.
These are my top bands.

HAhahah you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

I started this thread for fans of the music, not for people who have never heard it to pass judgement on.

If you don't know what this is, then its not for you.

Ha ok fine. I know its not for everyone.... but just out of curiosity; why do you assosiate extacy and glowsticks with industrial? I equate that garbage with happy hardcore techno and house and ravers and shit.

maybe you do know what your talking about but the way you described it doesn't suggest it.

Hum....heard of them, but never heard them. You gotta share with me buddy!

Crioten: Check out Bach's Mass in B Minor you can hear previews on Apple's iTunes. Probably amazon.com as well. It is a beautiful work, soft and flowing one moment, then thuderous and emotional the next. A wonderful mix of choir and orchestra. Also, Ludwig van Beethoven's 9th is fckng INTENSE.
Or are you asking for industrial? I have pics up there of ( in this order ) Skinny Puppy ( Too Dark Park is the best ) Wumpscut ( Bunker Gate Seven or Dried Blood of Gamorrah ) Front Line Assembly ( check out Hard Wired ) and last is Collide ( Vortex is their best )
Um Apple iTunes has some stuff from all of those guys. You can hear some there!

Noize?
Power noize?
Darkwave/Coldwave?
Combichrist, Aslan Faction, Assemblage 23, Ah Coma Sotz, Feindflug, Hocico, VNV Nation, Tanz Mit Laibach, Suicide Commando...damn, I'm blanking.....there are a bunch more.

Fark mang! You know some obscure shite!
Noise and power noise: Merzbow and Noisex. I have some in my collection, but I can't say I listen a whole lot these days. Just not as angry as I used to be! hahaha
Suicide Commando is pretty sick. They have one album that is better than the others I think, just can't remember the title. Most of the really heavy stuff I listen to these days is Funker Vogt and Wumpscut.

Say, are you the guy who smashed his white Subaru into the tires at Buttonwillow hella days ago?

Giant Robot

wow, Merzboa and Noisex, thats deep territory that i cant even get into....
i kinda like some structure in noise, ala grindcore stuff like Discordance Axis and Terrorizer....

although it aint industrial, you'd probably like Zena Geva and Melt Banana,

Me?
Nah, I have a crappy S13 with an oil-burning KA and a needs-to-be-rebuilt tranny.

But over summer I was home in LA and went to Das Bunker and Perversion a bunch so I got to know some more music.

Totally forgot Funker though...arg. Their latest cd sounds way "dancier" than Thanks for Nothing.

Man, i dont have my mp3 player with me, and I'm on my friend's computer so i cant pull up my band lists...

Lets see...Psyclon Nine, Hanzel und Gretyl (sort of, along the lines of Ministry, i'd say), ohGr, Neuroticfish, Imperative Reaction, System Syn.....

basically anything that Metropolis Records puts out (except Soman...teeheehee)

meh, i'll put some more up later.

I asked because the guy's name was Dan......its been a while.

Hey I wanted to check out Psyclon Nine! I found their website, and I heard some clips that sounded good. What do you think of them? Ever heard of the Razor Skyline? That is another band I have heard a few songs of and really liked. I just need to make a trip to Rasputin's in Bezerkley. Razor Skyline is more along the lines of Collide, and if you have ever heard of Lacuna Coil. Not industrial but I really like Lacuna Coil.

Older industrial = yes

New industrial = don't even know if it exists as such

The majority of what I listened to back in the 80's and early 90's was industrial. And it's funny because when I logged on here today I see this thread and the very first thing you posted was Skinny Puppy's insignia and I am listening to vivisect as I write this :)

Vivisect is a classic. I really prefer the newer stuff though. Too Dark Park and Last Rights are really what I think of if someone mentions Puppy. Even The Process, it took a while for that album to grow on me but now I think its the bee's knees. Of the old stuff Cleans Fold and Manipulate is my most listened to.
So what is some of the older stuff you like? I don't know much about it. Mostly early 90s and up for me.

Hey Kevin! What are a few of your favorite composers? I kinda stick to "classicals greatest hits" like Bach Beethoven and Mozart. Mozart's Requiem is absolutely amazing. Verdi's Requiem, another I love but you have to be in the mood for that level of intensity. How is Japan mang? My brother just came home from being over there for almost a year. He loved it. He was down in Oita.

I'm going to but in here and talk about my own classical likes even though nobody asked.

In general I like baroque, mainly Vivaldi and Bach, with some Teleman and a few other guys thrown in.
Additionally, you gotta love the 20th century Russian stuff - Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, all that good stuff.
And then there are the Hungarians....Bartok and Dvorak
And the only Finish guy EVER - Sibelius
And as for Americans.....John Adams is awesome, not such a fan of Copland or Bernstein.

Back on industrial though, yea, Psyclon Nine is awesome. They're from LA so a friend told me about them, and I only have Divine Infect (need cash for Inri) but it's pretty damn good.
And as far as the other bands/groups I mentioned, I'm pretty sure that they are the most popular in the industrial world...as I'm not really deep into the scene and have heard of them.....never heard of some of the bands you mentioned though :D.

Anyone ever go to Death Guild?

Anyway.

Oh, and Speedmonkey, I know your brother pretty well. In fact, I saw him on campus just a few hours ago.
In our Japanese classes he was Daniel #1 and I was Daniel #2.
woot.
