93 240sx vs 88mr2

i am going to race an 88 mr2 this friday and the guy keeps saying that he gets a 15 flat in the 1/2 mile. He said he got it by droping his exhuast and with nitto tires. According to him his car weights 2200 with 145 hp and 117000 miles. I have a 93 240sx with an injen intake. Now we are gonna keep the race street legal so he will keep his exhuast on with street tires. I am a pretty quick shifter and usually in a race i shift around 6500. Do you guys think i can beat him and any tips will also help?

That Weight number on the MR2 Seems a Little Low, i was under the impression that they were more along the lines of like 2450 or so, but i could be thinking of a Different body style, so i dunno, them lil MR2's are Pretty damn Fast, got a friend that had a 90 something one, had all the Yoda Trim and stuff, top model or something, it was Pretty damn Quick, My old Eclipse Would Beat him, but only Just, so i dunno, if your Stock it will Prolly Be Close to a I doubt it.

It depends on what model his mr2 is.  I can't remember when they started making the Supercharged model (I *think* it was 88).  If he's got the n/a model, and all he's done is drop his exhaust then there is no way he's running a 15 flat.

The mkII (90 - 95) mr2 runs low-mid 16's and an 85 would have less power stock.  So either he's feeding you a load of B.S about his times or his mods.  If he's stock and you've got intake, he's got no chance.

If he's supercharged, you won't beat him.
If he's not supercharged, you should beat him if you're a better driver.

Mr2's have less HP, but less weight too.
