2 way paging alarms works great. ive had them on both my cars. i work at circuit city as a installer so i have a lot of experience with them. just make sure that you have a reputable shop install it because some people just install fast and the wires look like a rats nest or they install it where its still easy for a thief to bypass and still break into your car or even steal it..

any zilvia memeber or 240 ill install an basic alarm $50 and remote start for under a $100.. supply your own alarm or you can get it from circuit city. try to get DEI cous its the most reliable(ie. clifford, viper, python...)

Ignition cut off is dope. If some1 tries the steal it and drives away they'll get stuck in the middle of the road...you can hop off the toilet and kick dude's ass rite down the street (if police aren't already there).

how about us mechanically inclined people, is it easy enough to wire up ourselves?

All the alarm sets I've ever installed have come with step by step instructions. Tools that would be helpful include wire stripper, extra wire, shrink wraps, heat gun, patience, and elbow grease. Most horns can be bolted to an existing hole under the bonnet somewhere, so not much drilling is required (mostly only to create wider passages to pass wires through).
