I went to the local Nissan Dealer here in Charlotte, NC and ended up talking to the Fleet sales/purchasing manager. His words where the Skyline will be comming to america in 2004 with around 400 hp. It will be badged as a Nissan too (probably the GTR). Not an Infiniti. According to him the G35 is NOT the skyline. Also there will only be 3500 350z's sold for the initial production run. Then they will be selling the turbo version, and the convertible versions soon in 2004. and the 350z will have no less than 280hp and no more than 310. He said this was he read this information in different sales memo's that nissan had sent out.
Anybody have any info concerning or validating this? or is this guy blowing smoke up my ass? I wouldn't know why he would b/c he wasn't actually the sales guy.

Initial production run of 3500?!?! This guy is full of shit, just like all car dealers.

Not really, I met some guys at a Nissan Dealership who used to own 240's and they were pretty cool. They told me the actual truth about some of their cars.

I'm not sure where your guy in Charlotte got his info. According to Nissan Motor Co. of Japan, The G35 is the Skyline. In Japan, the skyline is now a luxury vehicle, which is strikingly similar, if not identical to the G35 sedan released here by Infiniti. This isn't the first time a skyline has been released as a sedan. The R33 had a 4 dr sedan model also. Futher on, the g35 was designed on the skyline v35 chassis, notice anything similar here?(the number 35 maybe?) The g35 will also be released in the fall as a 2 door coupe, and possibly, keep your fingers crossed, followed by nissan as a certified GT-R. I just wanted to get you all on the right page. You may want to tell your Nissan salesman to stop giving information he knows nothing about, cause he's full of it. If you're skeptical, take a trip to http://www.nissan.co.jp/, or take a look below. http://www.nissan.co.jp/SKYLINE/V35/0201/DATA/MAIN/IMAGES/main_02.jpg

matic, the picture you have there is of the concept version of the 2 door skyline(jp), or 2 door g35(U.S.) coupe that will be released this fall, you may also need to pay a visit to www.nissan.co.jp. And like i said before the g35 IS THE SKYLINE fellas, and NISSAN HAS NOT, and i repeat HAS NOT RELEASED ANYTHING FOR THE NEXT GT-R yet. KEEP YOURS FINGERS CROSSED.

please tell me it's not just me, but I think the new GT-R (at least the concept) looks ASS. I mean FUGLY!! Artist renditions of a V35 platformed Skyline GTR look *so* much better than the GTR concept they've been showing us.
Please, pleeeeaassseeeee tell me that the current GTR concept will bear no resemblence whatsoever to the R35/V35/newGTR. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hmmm.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hmmm:'>

I agree the concept is real ugly, but I doubt they will have something like that in production.
The G35 coupe looks nice, with a litte extras I believe it will be the next GTR.

Griffon2k ... NO SHIT!! The SKYLINE IS A SEDAN!!!!! The GT-R is the thouroughbred race monster kick ass car! GRRRR Why does every one think that?
Personally, I like the look of the concept GTR, the front lamps could use a retouch, but the body looks SOOO good.

Yeah.. I think the GTR concept is a bit extreme, but that's what concepts are. Extreme. I saw a cadillac today that was Very cut, and defined (FUGLY) and looked a lot like the GTR type of styling. So it's possible that kind of look could someday become more popular, but not gonna happen anytime soon. (I mean, since when has cadillac been an inovator in styling that changed the whole market.. LOL)

drifterx87, you must really have a leaky injector, becaue if you had read through all of my post insteadof skimming through it you would see that i never said that the skyline and the skyline GT-R are the same thing. no, i said that the 02 Nissan Skyline and the 02 Infinti G35 are the same car. The Infiniti G35 is he skyline. I also said that Nissan has not released any thing about the next GT-R yet. the photos you all have seen everywhere were the concepts for the V35 nissan skyline/infiniti G35, which as i said again will be released as a coupe in the fall. And again, it seems likely that nissan will build upon the V35/G35 coupe for the next GT-R.(I think that is a great idea, the coupe is beautiful.
Oh, and before I forget, drifterx87, if you don't completely rea someone's post before bashing them, you could wind up looking like a complete ass looking for attention. Consider this a lesson learned. sykikchimp, i am glad to be of assistance to someone.
