ok im trying to rule some stuff out, but in the mean time im trying to learn.

what could cause the:

1_alternator
2_starter
3_ignition

to go bad?

Time, wear and tear and overuse... These are not items that last forever

yeah, i know that but I meant extraneous situations... like lets say, a belt in bad shape could cause the alternator to be faulty because of x reason or something like that, but I know possibilities are endles, I just want really common cases.. or the most likely to happen

i am focused mostly in the ignition system

well, those are all electrical systems so I will share with you a quote that a teacher shared with us.

Most electrical problems are resistive in nature and occur at connections. A dirty or loose connection creates a lot of resistance, and when current flows past a resistor it drops voltage across that resistance. In those areas added resistance means that there needs to be more current to keep certain parts of those systems happy, more current means more heat, and heat is one of the biggest problems that those parts have to endure.

what do you mean by resistance tho?for everything that I understood sounds like a good quote

Buy a dictionary and look it up.

Buy a dictionary and look it up.
easy there, buddy...

... the internet gives a free dictionary to those who don't want to actually open a book to look these things up...
dictionary.reference.com

(and YES, people, leave the "http://" off of the beginning)

say you have a ground.

the ground gets stupid rusty.

suddenly the electrons are like, 'yo its like harder to go down this wire.'

so then they don't go down the wire as much; or eventually, at all.

if you are having a specific problem with your car its better to just post it; chances are someone else has dealt with it before.

google has plenty of info

http://www.doctronics.co.uk/meter.htm

read "digital multimeters"
