Would this even be feasable?

if you could swap the bell housings maybe but i doubt it. if you got the money to throw around go ahead and try it, tell me how it works out. oh yea, you wont have a speed sensor, the s15 has it in the dif not the tranny, Good luck.

 Interesting combination. So you're putting the expensive tranny on the bargain motor? The S15 trannies aren't very strong either.

Do You Have Proof? There Are Japanese Tuner Companies That Are In The 400hp Range On Stock 6spd Trannies.

yea i bet you can just swap bellhousing, but i too have heard that the 6spd tranny's are kinda weak and that most guys that go for big power either have them strengthened of just use a 5spd sr tranny

Sorry man, but I have had a S15 that had a good amount of HP (385hp) and it broke the output shaft in my 6spd in about a month. I switched to a S14 5 Spd added more Hp and never had a problem again, and that was with a OS Twin plate (which tend to be harsh on trannies)

Also 2 friends of mine had S15 motors in S14 Silvia's and would consistently fuck up there trannies, but both of them were too hard headed to change to a 5spd.

I have also heard about destroyed s15 trannies. You should see my friends civic with the jdm b16, we cruise at like 4500 to 5000 on the ol interstate. The 6 speed may not lower that rpm anyways, they are a closer ratio than your 5 speed I think. Also, if you REALLY wanted to lower those cruising revs, you could look into just switching to a different 5th gear.

My Point Being Could It Be The Driver, Not The Transmission?

I Know Of Many Over 400hp Cars That Run Stock S15 Transmissions With No Problems. A Few Are The Blitz Car, Top Secret, There Is A Car Here In The States That Was Featured In Super Street Iirc, And There Is A Hks Car That Was At Nopi Running The Stock 6spd.... So Just Because Someone Can't Drive Or Doesn't Take Precautions When Driving A Severly Modified Vehicle Doesn't Mean Its The Failed Parts Fault. Hell I Blew Up A T5 Attached To A Stock Sbc 350 And Those Transmissions Are Rated At 350ft-lbs Of Torque (my Engine Made 295).

Exactly, CA's come with a different rear end that the SR's.

The Ca 5th Gear Ratio Is .838 While The S15 Is .767... It Will Lower It Almost 750rpms

eeexactly. Shit sucks. I changed out my rear end gears from 4:36 to 4:08 and it did help but not enough. Over the winter I plan to switch back to the 4:36 out back, and just look into a taller 5th in the tranny. Where should I start my search for a taller 5th gear. And as for the budget motor comment.....do some research on it douche bag.

The Ca18det Gear Ratios Are 3.321, 1.902, 1.308, 1, .838
The S15 6spd Gear Ratios Are 3.626, 2.200, 1.541, 1.213, 1, .767

ALSO GOING TO TALLER TIRES WILL REDUCE YOUR CRUISING RPMS AND INCREASE YOUR TOP SPEED.

^^ hmmm. Interesting.

nismo used to sell gearsets for the tranny, courtesy nissan had them... I don't know if they are still available or not.

Yeah maybe it's all of the drivers...If you really think that the Blitz car, and Top Secret are running stock trannies then you are not as smart as I thought you were. Why do you have such a hard-on for the 6 spd anyhow, you have some money invested into the manufacturer or something...c'mon now..lol

cause the CA has a narrow power band, especially with a larger turbo.
and 6 speeds are just plain cool, so obviously he wants to mate one up to the coolest nissan motor.

They had articles about how they were makiing ~400whp on stock 6spds.... I saw them on Nico awhile back.

and seriously whats better altering your 5spd to be a close ratio or adding another gear to soak up the slack? I would rather have the extra gear which allows your engine to stay in the power band rather than sacrificing off the line acceleration.

Hate to bring up an old thread(thats what happens when you search hehe), but I searched for this and still cant find a whole lot of info on the S15 transmisison. I really want to mate this to my SR, but Id like to do some homework on it first before I go buying one up and not be able to use it. I appreciate the insight. Thank you in advance

I think most of the people that have the 6 speed tranny just left it on their S15 motorsets... I'm not sure there has been a whole lot of fitting to other motors.

i am also intrested in this swap over, but i am shure it has been done before seeing that japan land is full of these kinds of swap overs and such.

but what would be the bennefit and advantages on a 6spd conversion. does anyone had a gear ratio list for the s15 6spd tranny?
