First off, I'm swapping an sr20 into my 240. The ka motor is out and the sr motor is almost ready to go in. so last night we're prepping the motorset - going to put the tranny on so it can be installed. When we notice that the clutch in the car is hydraulic and the tranny is not, its a cable. What the hell am I supposed to do here? What do I need to get this shit to work? Do I just need a clutch cable/line or what? Where can I get what I need and what do I need? Any help would be much appreciated.

Feel free to IM me about it and explain it all to me. IM = Jcb890 :)

Thanks,
Jake

i dont think i have any real closeup pics of the tranny, but i know i have some with the tranny and motor sitting next to each other, i'll post those up soon. my friend (who has a 200sx sr20) is positive its not hydraulic. what am i looking for to tell if it is or isn't and i can tell you for sure.

EDIT: I just tried IMing you.

wow, touchy. He was pointing out that fwd Sentra SR transmissions are cable type and that you might be screwed... take some pictures and we can help you, otherwise we can't know what the heck you are talking about. I have never seen a cable activated clutch on an SR transmission.

yeah i'm touchy, i'm sick of shit going wrong. i'll post some pics up tomorrow, but its definately not hydraulic. there's a hole instead of a dent in the fork on the passenger side of the tranny near where it bolts up to the motor/clutch/flywheel. this sucks... i'll post some pics up tomorrow though.

Here's a couple pics, but i don't have any closeups right now. I'll post some closeups of the tranny tomorrow.

That actually looks like it has the dent where the slave pushes on. It also has the 2 bolt holes where the slave cylinder mounts. Go get a slave cylinder, like a Nismo and mount it to the place in front of the fork where the two bolt holes are. You may have to order the bolts since it looks like they aren't there.

And kick your friend in the balls. lol

well it turns out my friend is a douche and there is a dent there and not a hole. don't i feel like a moron after i was convinced it wasn't hydraulic and e-mailed Heavy Throttle about it and everything... lol, retarded me. i e-mailed them back and asked if the tranny was supposed to come with the slave cyl and the bolts so if it was supposed to, hopefully they send those parts out, if not, where should i pick them up?

Kandyflip, thanks for the help man.

Here is the terrible truth about some sr's that are bought from these so-called "importers". If you go on many of these importers websites, or call them, many of them have readily available sr trannies. Heres the problem, where do u think that they get these trannies? I used to work for an "Importer", and when i noticed a lot of complaints coming in about cable trannies with a sr20 that is supposed to have a hydraulic, my boss never really gave them a real answer and told them to buy one from him. Well after a while i got curious. I checked the inventory sheets, and guess what, we didnt ever order a sr trannie from japan, but many engines with trannies on them already. To make a even longer story short, your company that u got it from probably took your sr trannie off your motor, and sold it individually, while ordering some piece of crap cable trannie to give you. I would get my money back, and if they deny your request, I would tell them that u r taking them to court, then they will surely give u ur money back.
