Transmission swaps

I have an auto tranny 196 240sx Se.  And a couple questions.
1) Has anyone done a manual swap on their car? Where did you get the tranny? Is it time consuming and laborsome, or did a shop do it? And about how much did it cost?
Also, in an unrelated section
2)y are people talking about a 7000 rpm redline?  My auto redlines at 6500.  How do I make my car able to redline faster?

the 7000rpm redline everyone is talking about is with the SR20DET engine.

nope my S13 has a 7.2 redline and fellow socal240sx.org members have seen it.
oh yeah if you search the archives here you will see I have outlined the complete swap here.
I have also outlined it on Fresh Alloy and 240sx.org the install on page on 240sx.org is incomplete he leaves out a lot of important parts that you do have to change.
I have the low down on both the S13 and the S14 have done it to both. I also can sell you the swap parts.

I have a question. Would a transmission and tranny from a 1997 Nissan 240SX work in a 1991 Nissan 240SX? Do I need one from the same generation of 240SX?

Hopefully i will be doing this by the end of august. I also read about the auto ecu compatable with the 5spd tranny. Redline will be higher on 4th and 5th and no fuel cutoff right? but will this work since i got a SOHC ecu?

Redline is no higher with auto vs. manual...

And yes - A '97 tranny will work in a '91...but IIRC, you need the S13 speed sensor...the others will work correctly.
