My redtop SR fired up fine and then I went to drive it and it got hot. I took the thermostat out and tested it in boiling water and it opened right at the correct temp, so I figured I just had air in the cooling system or it was stuck for some reason. Anyway I ran it for about a week with the thermostat not in and it stayed cool until today. It was like 100 degrees and I ran it pretty hard so I figured it might be cause my thermostat wasn't in and it wasn't cooling very efficiently because it was flowing pretty quick past the radiator and not getting very cool. Well, I put the thermostat back in today because I need it in and I figured since I tested it and I have had coolant running through just fine that I would just pop it in and it would open. Wrong....It is running hot and I can't get it to open. I got a new radiator cap, and I was pumping the lines the whole time to make sure to get the air out of the system. Anyone have any suggestions other than it being the thermostat, or any other way to fill the radiator and get the air out of the lines. Thanks in advance.
