saving up for a beater to drive to save the life of my daily driven SR. i'm thinking of a 92-93ish corolla sedan or an 87 camry 4cyl. not looking for any luxuries other than a/c, good gas mileage and power windows (because my car never had it). limit would be about 3000. perhaps this could be a useful thread for others looking for a good budget also. any suggestions??

If you want to stay with Nissan a b13 Sentra SE-R is amazing. So thats two votes for those deals.

Its a random car but, 95 Geo Prizm. Its four door, has power everything, moonroof and gets dam near 45 miles per gallon. Ive been driving one around since my 240 has been down. Nice, cheap car, itll only run you about 2000 at the most.

yea as much as people hate it.... go with a civic... 4 doors are awesome because they arent going to be overpriced like some are and it will get the job done...

If gas prices were so high I would suggest a 90-93 Lexus LS400........you can find em w/ high miles for like $3,500+ (well...I saw a few go for that anyhow)
Since gas prices are so high I would agree a lady driven Civic would be the way to go.

consider that if you dropped 3grand on a b13 Sentra SE-R it would be perfect!

no one has voted for this one, but how about an MK3 Supra? I got an 87 turbo model for $1200. It lasted more about 4 years before I parted it out. It was probably the best investment I ever had.
since i bought the car it never broke down! i rarely had to pop the bonnet. gas mileage is really good too (if well maintained). To me FR all the the way even for my beater but, hey...its ur call.
Right now I have a 93 240 and a 93 Miata. kick ass mang...
MK3 Supras have a bad tendency to blow head gaskets, have defective power steering and blown shocks. ;)

I would suggest if you not planning to daily drive ur car anymore at all and if you have a garage large enough to keep it with a trailer I would drop like 5g for a SUv or truck and a trailer. And take the insurrance off your 240sx. Make that a track car. Save on insurrance and now you have a daily beat suv

I'd vote for one of the following:
-Cressida (Warning: You WILL want to modify it after awhile....)
-D16-powered Civic
-Mid-90's Corolla
-Mk II Supra (the old 5MGE-powered ones)
-22RE-powered RWD Celica
-Early 1990's Camry (Find a Lexus ES250 if you wanna be novel and rare)
-AE92 Corolla (preferably a GTS, but a manual SR5 wouldn't be the end of the world...)
-Nissan NX2000
-B13 Sentra SE-R
-BB1 Honda Prelude 2.0si
-Early (Pre-DC2) Integra

what the fuck is a Cressida
A cressida is a 4 door toyota that has the same engine as the NA 86.5-92 supra. That means it'll have head gasket problems too O.O

The cool thing about mine was that the bhg, power steering rack, shocks, and tires were all repaired b4 i bought it by the previous owner.
But, you can still find ones in good condition for a fair price. bah...wutever

u might wanna check the bluebook pricing on those things , they go for alot considering how old they are... but they last so............... cressida is basically a 4 door toyota with a I6 and its rwd...i prefer late 80's model but the early 90's would do also....
