Has anyone actually had these or seen them in person on an s14? I want something lower than my 1.5 drop Tein s-techs and they claim these are a 2.5 drop. Im not yet ready for c/o's but i want a drastic drop in ride height. If not these then which ones for a good 2.5 drop?

Here is a pic of my car with them on! I have AGX and the DF210's, looks good but would look better with 18's on and they ride nice until I get an expensive ass coilover set. Also I don't think they have settled all the way, I havn't put many miles on them since they were installed because I commute to work in another car everyday.

Thats STILL high. I bet we could walk under that car, reach up, and touch the undercarriage.
Espelirs are good. Any coilover is better. Cusco gives GOOD drop on their coilovers.

hope you know that dropping that low will allow you to get acquainted with bump stops and dealing with swimitis with stock shocks. Thank good ole' mac strut design to limit you on going low on a budget, if you want to go any lower, just go with c/o's besides the money you spent on those springs, saving up 3-4times that amount would land you with a decent entry to mid-level performance coilover.

i say just spring for the coilovers...that way, youll have the look you want with the handling...the DressFeels are mostly for looks; IMO, no point...

Dress springs? Like the kinda TEIN make? You can't be serious!

Yea i was a little aprehensive about the word "dress up", but i figured half the time the Japanese use cheesy terms like its going out of style and much is often lost in translation. And yes that picture with the DF210's definitely doesnt look like a 2.5" drop to me, though its still a clean even ride height.

Maybe i should just bite the bullet and do c/o's. I have the $ but was trying to save for my sr. $200 springs vs $1000 c/o's gives me $800 towards an sr.

Given that bit of info what do you guys think? Springs and closer to an sr, or c/o's right now. Which coilovers? I think im too impatient to wait for the SPL's 2-4 week b/o.

2.5 drop on KYB's will blow them quick

buy some Megans coilovers, they're great and going cheap...like $865 shipped if i remember correctly

The DF210's lower the S14 approximately 1.8" front and rear and the spring rates are raised a small amount (generaly 10-15%) over stock to compensate for the shorter suspension travel, and will still be within spec of good condition OEM and most aftermarket shocks. The KYB AGX is a very good shock and will work well with your spring. The GF210's (+30%) are definitely more performance oriented, but the DF210's will still perform much better than stock, despite the peculiar Japanese naming conventions. :)

You have to remember that when you install performance springs, the shock valving should be suited for the spring. If the lowering and spring rate [from an OEM type replacement performance spring] is excessive, no stock or even aftermarket shock will be able to work well with it, and will reduce the life of your shocks because of the additional stress. There are some springs out there that have really high rates and lots of lowering, but you'll need to be very careful of which shocks you use with them.

The wear on the shocks from using excessively high spring rate + extreme lowering is similar as if you had tried to tow something very heavy with your 240sx. Even though stock, the car has the torquey KA motor, and you'd be fine towing things for a while, the stress on the tranny would eventually lead to premature failure. This is why height adjustable coilover suspension is highly recommended. (We have quite a few, from entry level to track only motorsport type)

Not only do you get a much higher spring rate and dampener valving over stock, you have the option of properly lowering and corner balancing the car at a slightly higher price of high quality springs + 4 quality performance shocks.
