recently, on nico there is a thread where SSA manifold had pieces fallen off and destroyed a new turbo :ugh:
so I want to spend alittle more and get a manifold that's around 500$. I am looking at the tublar silkroad manifold, it seems to be aroudn that price but I can not find any photos of the runners.... do you guys have pics of the actual runners? or those who have experience with it, what did you think?

The only manifold worth getting is fullrace, it will cost 300 dollars more than the SilkRoad but do it. It will not crack and then if by some freak occurence it does crack, its in America and under warranty.

Not to hijack your thread, but I'm kind of curious about this myself. I have to replaced my turbo gasket so it occured to me, maybe I should buy a new manifold :rawk: The disparities in pricing among manifolds are amazing. Megan manifolds are like $170, there are a few in the $500 range, and quite a few in the $1k range. I don't see an significant differences although I'm sure there are workmanship issues. I dunno.

You dont hang around the forums much then. Cheap mani's simply dont last as long. And the better ones are flow tested and will perform better. If i was ever gonna buy a turbo mani for whatever reason, it would be Full-Race.

is this the FUll-race you're talking about? if so, wow this is what I been looking for though the price is a bit high, I am willing to spend that much money but I am not sure if I need it, it's almost an overkill
how does it compare to hks, greddy, jic?
by the way, since this is my daily driver, I am only after 300 to 350whp, do I really need such a nice manifold? (to go with a gt2871r .65 t26 flange planning to run 15psi on it, stock internal, not even head gasket)

gotta love all the super cheap 240sx guys... if you have the money, do it once and do it right. don't bother buying a manifold thats gonna crack and you'll need to buy a new one, which could come out to the same price in the end, much more headache, and less power.

thats exactly how i see things too, do it right the first time so you don't have to re-do things later

I have heard of every name brand manifold cracking at one point or another. That is THE best bottom mount manifold available and yes it is expensive because it is damn worth it. Buy a 600 dollar manifold which might crack at some time and you are shit outta luck or throw it all down. Its what I'm saving for and I'm only going for 300whp. My turbo is going to barely have to do anything after all these supporting mods I get

hm I might buy it then
I'll look into it soon
the reason why I don't want to go cheap is because someone on nico just blew a brand new turbo because the SSA manifold have a chunk of metal fall off and got sucked into the turbine

well the thing is - all manifolds crack. :bigok:
its a matter of 1)material used. usially from the SAME supplier :naughty: LOL. 2) quality. some things as you all know are made in the SAME factory.... but yea some are more quality i'm sure 3) BRACING.
ANY manifold will crack :) deal with it! if my shit cracks when i get one, i just take it off, walk 2 blocks and get it welded. tada. just because its Jic Jdm dont mean it dont crack.
stock sr mani will never crack on u. well....almost never. everything has a life span

solid mounts are more money to throw away :) Stock mounts plus PB!!! polyurethane is some solid stuff. and cost like 6 bux total to do all 3 mounts, engine and tranny. dont do it if you will cry when you hear interior pieces rattle alot. and get questions like why the fuck your steering wheel is shaking???
