ok so heres some background info: i went out of town for 2 weeks leaving my s13 sitting in my driveway, while i was gone, my brother decides to steal several fuses out of the car. when i get back, i get him to replace all the fuses and check multiple times that everythings where it should be. i goto start up the car and it is just ugly, the starter sounds terrible and its not crankin up. battery dies, hook it up to a jumper, try a few more times and eventually it cranks. engine looked and sounded like shit for about 5 minutes than everything was fine. now my problem is, twice today when ive come to turn my car back on all power cuts out, but when i pull the lever to pop my hood everything comes back on and it starts up fine. all the connections seem firm and tight. note that this happened twice, both times everything came back on simply by popping the hood. any ideas???

First off, why the hell is your brother stealin your fuses???

Anyways, is there a security system? I beleive the s14 system has a hood switch, and if that is wired into an ignition disabler then that could be where the problem is.

Maybe the hood switch is bad, though i dont see what that has to do with the fuses.

Did he take any relays too? Maybe one of them is bad or loose.

yeah he took some relays, put em all back though...mustve damaged them?

and its an s13, no security whatsoever

oh and for the first question, i have no idea.

still it just doesnt make sense? the power cuts out at the turn of the key, and comes back on from just a heavy movement or touching the positive power cables to the battery.

and comes back on from just a heavy movement or touching the positive power cables to the battery

you answered your own question

bad connection at the positive battery terminal or the wire
