I put coilovers on my '90 hatch and the only problem I've had with the whole deal is all that plastic stuff inside the tops of the wheel wells are rubbing all the time and making horrible, annoying noise.

Has anyone who put coilovers on had this problem and found a fix?

take it off. if you're still rubbing, pull out the hammer.

a wiring harness on the driverside will be exposed and will only cause a problem if you are low enough and/or have huge tires....thats an easy fix though..

And hammer the lip of the frame up so that the harness can come up easier.

I have. The plastic stuff is missing most of the body clips or whatever holds it tight so it started resting on the tires and is now all torn up. To remove it do I have to take the fenders off like in that link, or can I just tear it out cause most of it is already ripped apart?

Tear out the plastic first. Then take off the fender and relocate the harness.

Ah I see now that I am confusing two different things, thanks.

I would simply pull the fender well liner completely out of the way and not worry about anything else. Have done it on many swaps and not had a problem, assuming you don't drive the car in the woods like a 4 x 4. Fender removal is definitely not required; in fact, you need to pull these off first in order to remove the fenders (to get to bumper nuts and the bolts at door hinges).
