I was just watching a preview on the news headlines and they were talking about a computer worm that can infect the whole U.S. nation. Anybody know anything about this?

LOL, all you end users, all oblivious. Its the MOST effective virus to date. But its not nearly as destructive as others b4, you probably have 5 instances of it running right now, But it dosent matter for you, the lame end user.


For businesses, when dealing with "sensitive information" Social Security #'s ect... it can compramize the security of the business, therby putting at risk, you're, and everyone elses personal credit information, just for you to be defrauded.

Pacific Care was hit with it today, and had to take their entire network offline.

The FIX: Windows Update (doh!), the fix is already there, plus you shouldnt be downloading porn, and P2P Mp3's anyways.

I love the title of this thread.
There will ALWAYS be another "newest huge" virus/worm/exploit. ALWAYS.

A few years ago, there were supposedly 20-something new virii released into the wild (worldwide) per day. I shudder to think what that number is up to now...

Anyhow it's our own fault. There wouldn't be NEARLY as many people trying to write these things, if we'd quit giving them jobs @the NSA/CIA/etc. It's like a challenge from our gov't sometimes, I swear, LOL!

this latest worm is spreading fast, it doesn't harm any data, it just replicate itself and makes the computer (windows 2000) OS reboot itself.
the worm is called Zotob

there are tons of virus/worms spreading around all day.

On the P2P subject, it has been show to be one of the largest security risk tasks that one can undertake while using an online pc. These P2P softwares open youre computers wide open to all sorts of un certified downloads, and are very often exploited by virus creators. I use P2p softwares to steal all my music (LOL), but you must keep current with windows updates, and a good anti virus software, the best being FREE, AD Aware.

I dunno about you, but I like a real estate agent that is well spoken and has a good handle on words... u know, that whole legal thing. My last agent was a silver tongued genius who helped us save a ton of $ just through his negotiating skills, helping my wife and I at his expense.... but besides that, the only one that was knocking your grammar was the guy who is obviously clueless himself.

It isn't so much Zilvia's fault that there are so many flame posts, it's the attitudes of the individuals posting... and in this instance, you basically called everyone who isn't in the computer industry an idiot.... all the while making sure that we know you're not into said industry. Speaking as someone who IS, one of the top rules is not to makes the user feel stupid. Not everyone is computer literate, and not everyone needs to be, that's the way the world works. If people were always condescending about people who didn't know about their particular field, most of us would spend a whole lot of their life being belittled.

P2P, don't get me started. You just lumped all P2P programs into one big group. That's like saying, "I'm NEVER buying a car. They did a review on those Saturn VUEs, and they were ALL recalled cuz there's a significant chance that hte right rear LCA may buckle under the stress of an emergency turn faster than 45mph. Cars are SOOO dangerous! I'm never buying one!"

I don't think anyone went out of their way to "flame" you (and if you think THIS post is a flame, maybe you should go back and check your defs).

Worms are transmitted thru Gay Porn. As long as you don't DL any you'll be fine. If anyone you know gets a worm it's from gay porn. All this P2P stuff is just an RIAA wives tale, it's gay porn I tell you.

My best friend owns a high end wine/liquor store, so i drink anejo patron, cuervo, julio...all the time. I just figured the people on this forum would acually get the joke if i used a common liquor.

i dont know about u guys but id be more afraid if a guy walks into my house with a shotty and starts his rampage, then a software getting into my shitty laptop corrupting my system....its not like anyone ever has hacked into zilvia and changed my profile... wait let me think about it , it did happen. best virus to come IMHO has got to be the I Love u bug.... that thing caused so many offices in my city to shutdown their network...
