SO. going to replace my flca and most of the multilink stuff on the s13.

i go to remove the lca from the spindle which i left attached to the shock and WOW it is stubborn. i have a ball joint seperator and was hammering for about an hour. any tips/ideas? it's not the balljoint that i'm actually trying to remove, but just the lca from the spindle. it's ok that i completely mangle the lca since i'm replacing the whole thing.

another FUCKED up thing i noticed is that the mounting hole for the lca on the crossmember is SLOTTED, i'm assuming due to my crashing into curbs. just my luck. (it's not supposed to be slotted on the back side of it, right?) this is the reason for my horrible caster. anyway, it's slotted a couple-few mm. ideas? would aligning the bolt to the normal spec and then re-torquing it down be enough for it to stick there? (i know my adj. t/c rods will fix it, but i may need that adjustment available later)

so right now i have a car that's on stands, LCAs that won't seperate, and an LCA bracket that's slotted.

other than that, life's amazing. :bigok:

Well if the new lca you have has an alright balljoint then smash the shit out of the one that is stuck on your spindle. Thats the best way to take it off or hammer the lca. Now if you crossmember is slotted it shouldnt be that bad maybe some negative camber but if its more than 1/2 an inch then i would do something about it but yeah i not too sure. I just used alot of stuff taking that lca off so i kinda forgot but brute force is the way to go since you are replacing the lca.

it's not slotted on both ends though. it's slotted only in the rearward facing hole which sets the lca at an angle, thus changing the caster angle.

also, should i leave anything bolted in when i'm trying to seperate the lca from the spindle? right now it's kinda connected to the shock and tie rod. the t/c is off and so is the swaybar endlink.

Yeah leave all that on. Pretty much its just the tc rod and swaybar. Dont know about your other problem.
