I emailed discount tire. They told me the Progress sways for S14 will be available soon for $202 each. They're 30 mm front and 24 mm rear, with pillowball endlinks, and they're adjustable. Does anyone have any experience with these on either S13 or S14? They're some of the thicker bars on the market, and the price is right with the pillowball endlinks. Comments?

They're a reputable company, i'd definitely check 'em out when the product is available.
A little on the high side; Tanabe goes for $360-ish a set (f + r)
They're prettywell known Honda guys.

Hrm, you might be right.
If I were getting Tanabe's, i'd probably want to go with SPL endlinks, which are nearly 300 on their own.
Makes progress's inclusion of endlinks a pretty good sounding deal.
hope they're red!

it would definately be a good deal if they are spherical bearing(pillowball) endlinks the potential for them being adjustable is a lot higher then.

and if they were chromemoly, I would definately get them.

They are definitely adjustable with pillowball endlinks. The S13 ones are 27 F/22 R (the site doesn't list the S14 bars yet). I wonder if they are adjustable for preload and for attachment point (like the whitelines) or just for preload. Either way, its by far the cheapest way to get sways with pillowball endlinks, even compared to Sus. Tech. sways with SPL endlinks.

no s14 = the suck
Tanabe's don't come with endlinks, they are 30.4 mm / 22 mm for S13 and they are of a hollow Chromoly construction: lighter than STOCK HICAS sway bars.

Damn. Lighter than stock but thicker. Badass, no wonder they cost so much.
so Tanabe's F/R are about $360 + another $300 ish for SPL endlinks
lighter, thicker
v
Progress w/ endlinks for $300
heavier, thinner
I'm glad I don't have to make this decision any time soon.

lol.... them being heavy is like "well.... i wanna eat before i hit up the track... but it think taco bell will make me too heavy so no i dont wanna eat now, ill just drink water" their weight is not important since the difference cant be significant.
it's close to 5lbs compared to stock, and a huge difference between aftermarket solid steel sway bars...
Stock Hicas were like 11 lbs and 7 lbs... Tanabe are like 9lbs / 6lbs... I can't image how heavy solid bars could be..
And weight reduction is about that: saving every pound you can everywhere you can..

From what I read on the progress site, they are made of chromoly and they are most likely hollow. I would think these are very similar to tanabe sway bars in contstruction. Somebody buy them and tell us all about them.
This is what I was trying to do I bought the Tanabes and was looking for endlinks and ended up buying the endlinks from Checkers or something like that. I really like the Tanabes the down side was I got attacked by a curb ten minutes later.

Progress's site kinda sucks. I couldn't find info about construction or materials at all. If they are pillowball/adjustable/chromoly/hollow, they will kick ass and all other sways will bow down. I'll be buying some, but probably not for at least a year or so.

The info is in their downloadable catalog on the website. And you are right about their site. It sucks ass.

Well if they are chromoly that is definately a plus. BTW, I want to make sure, are sway bars sprung or unsprung weight? I'm assuming sprung...

why? it doesn't take you a year to save up for some sway bars...

It takes a while to get a car to put them on though. Especially when you sometimes spend money on your girlfriend, stuff like that.

Yea, I'm premed, I don't have time to work lucrative jobs ever. I spend all my time trying to "act interested in the field of medicine" so I can get into a damn med school. Anyways, I would like some Progress bars in the meantime. Coupled with some softer rate coilovers, I'm thinking they will make for a well balanced setup that isn't too skittery over little midcorner bumps, if I can get my alignment and tire setup right.
