What's up guys, I have a question. why is it that if you can get a complete front clip for $1500 in cali we have to pay the
same price for the engine minus the ecu,  maf, wire harness?
If i could pay $1500 for a front clip at any junk yard I'd buy one once a month.

But see, the problem with getting a clip from the junkyard is that st Silvia is a JDM ONLY car.  Hence, none in junkyards.
If you look hard enough then you can find a clip for $1500.  But remember, SCC has many hook-ups.  You don't.  Their stuff will be cheaper than yours and theirs will be better quality.

Shoot SCC can get just about anything they want, there is no way an adverage guy could do that for under $3000. It was fun to dream about though.

I was recently made aware of a letter being published in SCC about Specific Output by some guy from New Haven, CT that owns a black S14....  anyways, it was really insightful and stuff.

Now if only i could get my car in there..... then get some sponsors and stuff....

what you you guys are telling me is that SCC is just blowing
smoke. the average person can't get jack for $3000.
that's what I thought.

the part where they said the sr20, tranny and turbo altenator etc weighed 490lbs, and the ka24e weighed 493, did they just mean the engine weighs that much?

AFAIK, Venus now charges $2200+ for front clips and is back ordered.  The front body panel have about doubled in price too.  Keep in mind:
a) that was 10 months ago when they bought the motor;
b) it had high mileage; and
c) "Hi!  I'm Dave Coleman from the magazine SCC.  I understand you sell front clips for Nissan Silvias.  We would like to do a story on a conversion and need to find a shop that will sell us an entire front clip.... uh huh - of course - we always put the shop's name in the article."
