Anywho... during dinner dorifto and i were thinking about gettin a few ppl to go to japan next year. It was kinda random but hella interesting. Like a 240sx group trip or something. We go there for a lil and get hella cheap ass clothes and bring hella suitcases. (get goodwill clothes or seomthing) and when we get to japan, we just throw away the clothes we wore and just fill our suitcases full of car parts. Anyways, it may sound strange but lets get a group buy going for this hahahahaha. :wavey: i would hella like to do it and stuff and thinking that we shoudl go around spring time or summer time. Go out to upgarage, junkyards, love hotels u kno just the good stuff it has to offer. So anyone interested just speak up.

While we were talking about we got really excited. There are LOTS of parts we could bring back, such as half-amber-half-clear corners, emblems, GT-R grills, kouki tails, steering wheels, all kinds of small suspension parts (rods of all sorts) shift knobs, and basically anything that can be put in a suitecase.
Would be a little pricey, but we have plenty of time to save up and we would make a little of it back by selling out JDM loot, like the demented pirates we wish we could become.
What do you all think? Any parts to add to my list? Feedback is called for!!

price range? $1500-$?,XXX,XXX?? how much do you guys think a round-trip ticket is?
Sil-Abc
08-08-2005, 07:52 PM
i have a couple of friends that work at the airport for the japanese airlines. if that falls through i could always go to some travel agency to get a group price for at least 10 ppl. imma check prices right now
Sil-Abc
08-08-2005, 07:56 PM
round trip is about 950 after taxes and stuff. talk to a travel agency and maybe they can get it lower maybe if we do a group buy haha. this should go in the group buy section.
im thinking about spending 2000-3000 on this trip. 1g for the tickets, 800 on food and shelter and the rest on parts and stuff. I mean hell, it may seem alot but u need to enjoy life. I need to save up now....
If anyone is interested IM me about it and we can talk about it more in detail.

1. you can bring empty suitcases to fill with parts...
2. it is cheaper to buy tickets through the online sites like expedia and the other ones, you just have to check for deals, airlines will rob you. For example, to fly my wife and I to the states from Osaka calling Northwest they wanted 1100 roundtrip each, I got the tickets on cheaptickets.com for 800 a piece..also there is JPN travel agency that also has offices in the states, I know for sure in NYC they are called H.I.S. search google and get their number, they have cheap deals in the springtime...
Junkyards may or may not let you in if you are with more than (1) Foreigner a lot of them will not let you in if they do not know you, I go with a Japanese friend the first time I go to new Junkyards so that they get to know me...
as far as buying new parts cheaper, you can buy some new parts cheaper here, you need to know the store owners though, then you can ay at cost...I will admit some are more expensive than in the states, My wheels were cheaper...also for the women, it would help if you learned some Japanese before your trip...then you can have a foot in with some of the nicer looking chicks..but you dont have to listen to me...

so is anyone willing to tag along cuz i wanna see how many cuz i dont wanna find out ill be all by myself. plus i need ppl to come so they can bring suitcases and help me get parts for you guys. I mean if im the only person goin i probably wont be able to get much for u guys cuz i need to spoil myself... but if someone comes we can get stuff and the largest thing ill bring back are rims and thats it. anything smaller i can do.
more ppl that come = more parts coming back for cheap

Wow, I'll go if tickets are only $500 :D
Isn't it cheaper if you rent your own personal jet if you're flying ten or more people?

I've never heard of that, soundsl like Wayne has some research to do.
Sil-Abc
08-19-2005, 04:20 AM
well that depends cuz if 10 or more go and tickets run roughly around 850 a pop thats come to a total of 8500 on tickets. Now if we get a private jet that will go round trip for 8500 PLUS have enough room for 10 or more ppl and luggage then sure ill do it. BUT i highly doubt anyone would do it with such a low price and with that size of a jet. I mean one way im sure 8500 would be enough but both ways iuno.
Ill take a look but i think it wont save anything

dude, don`t pay more than $700 for a round trip ticket. If you seen anything that is that or less buy it on the spot!! Seriously, if you wait 24 hours there`s a very probable chance the price will change.
There should be really good deals right now for JAL beacause of the accident

I am in the military and they have MAC flights. From what I understand, they are plans going in that direction and just giving a lift to people that want one. Don't know about civilians. Maybe I'll meet you guys there.

my suggestion. Instead have limit on weight by using suitcases to get parts. Why don't you guys spend the time there with some REAL closing in ur cases and call up some shipping company and let them ship it for you through sea. It is cheaper than you expected. Or worst comes worst. Just ship a container? It's what? 2000? Do a group buy, load up the parts while you are there, ask for deposite. ship it here in cali. Hell if you have enough dough, bring over a few totalled cars, and part that bitch out.
