Well July 9th I had to spend overtime at work for inventory...I didnt clock out until 10:40 PM and I had something to do that night so I tried to speed home. The first turn by my work was a pain in the ass and I TRIED to take it at about 80MPH (even though speed limit was 35MPH). My rear started sliding so I tried to overcorrect and ended up sliding on my passenger side. I jumped the curb and kamikazed a palm tree and a metal fence. I was told I started sliding because my tires were too stretched on my rim- 9.5 thick with 245/45/18 and 8.5 with 225/45/18. The good thing is that I walked away from the accident with some broken ribs, a puctured lung, some head injuries and some minor cuts on my shoulders and the back of my head. The bad news is my car is totaled and they suspended my license! I'm not too sure what car I want next... so I'm selling my parts. My brother went to the junkyard and pulled out my intake and stereo. Intake was only used for the month of June and a week of July. It has some scratches on the cold-air extension part that went to the cone, but other than that it's still mint. At the end of may I spent $350 for the black CAI with the splash guard. I'll sell it today for $250 OBO picked up in tierrasanta, since I cant deliever, seeing as how I dont have a license. My car was a 97 but the previous owner removed the intake and the dealership put a 95-96 sensor inside. It can still be used for a 97-98 you just have to convert the sensor like my car. The cone position was pretty neat too cause I had the JDM front bumper, so it atually got the coldest possible air. I also have front camber plates that were never used, made by TEIN. I bought them to fix my camber but I never made it that far. I paid $170 at the end of June, I'll let them go for $120 picked up in tierrasanta. I also have Kazama Adjustable RUCA's. Also brand spanking new, sweet candy apple red too. I paid $330 at the end of June, I'll let them go for $275. All these prices are OBO and I'm willing to ship if buyer will cover shipping. Here is the link to pics: PICS (http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sdpinoy808/album?.dir=bd40&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos)
Yeah I have some pics of me knocked out in the emergency room and some pics of my dead ass car, as well as the crash site but the item pics are at the end.

I'm thinking you started sliding because you came into a corner WAY too hot for your own good.

I'd be lying if I said I was sorry for you - you did a pretty dumb thing hauling through a corner like that on public roads. It's a damn good thing you only hit objects, not other people.

In any case, good luck with the sale - I'd buy your pillow ball mounts if I didn't already have a set.

damn dood....the pics tell it all...if you start to slide, never panic because you'll always overcorrect...anyways, it wasnt because of your stretch...FNs dont come in half sizes anyway...and 245 for a 10 isnt that much of a stretch...i think its the 80mph part...yeah, that sounds like the problem...sorry to hear about your injuries tho...
would there be anyway to get the taillights and headlights back? i would pick those up off you...hope all goes well

the only mistake he made was overcorrecting.

It definately WAS my fault...the store usually sends me home at 8:30 so this was 2 hours late! I usually take that turn up to 65MPH (at very most)...but this time I pushed it to save time...I didnt save any time cause i spent 3 weeks in the hospital. It definately WAS NOT worth it. And on top of that my car is gone. As far as the overcorrecting...it would have been the driver door against the tree if I didnt slide it around. So I got lucky. If I wasn't going so damn fast...I wouldn't have slid in the first place! But me and my time issues! My brother was saying that tires expand with heat, thats why "nascar" rear tires are ran low. But since I just got off of work, I guess they weren't hot at all, and the grip wasn't there. And the correct sizes of the rims were 18x9.5 +35 in the back and 18x8.5 +30 up front as listed on the 5zigen site. The road I was on is empty at 10:40 so I'm glad I didn't hit anybody...that would have been bad news for me. The headlights are busted, I'll have to check on the tails...hopefully my car hasn't been cubed yet! I'll update this thread if I do find the tails or anything else. My brother says they probably cubed it since the only thing that was still good was the motor, I'll def. check on it though.

from the pics they look to be in good condition, I didn't actually go to the junkyard yet...I was busy being in a coma! ha. I'll try to check them out tomorrow though and swipe them if they are still good.

From those pics it looks like you just straight panic'd and super overcorrected, glad you lived though.

Damn that sucks. Close call though... could have been a lot worse. Just good to hear that you are alright cuz cars can be replaced whereas lives cannot.

I am interested in the RUCAS though. how much shipped to 30114?

Any chance of grabbing the (good) wheels off the car? I'm not looking for track wheels, I just need some daily-driver wheels.

How much for the wheels?

I know EXACTLY where you crashed.
You REALLY shouldn't have been doing 80 on that road. Isn't the speed limit like 45?

Not to be a dick but you seriously are an idiot..

How much time would you have actually saved? 3-5 seconds???

I laugh.

i want your s14 jdm fog lights.
i'll take the bumper for 50 bucks. looks bang up when it hit the fence.

they dont make 10.5 and 9.5 width fno1r-c wheels in 17".
strange, you have Zenki speaker rear tray covers.

Well the rims were all chewed up from jumping the curb, 3 were dented so my brother left them. They were actually 18's and 8.5 up front 9.5 in back. He said the jdm turn signals were cracked and so were the fogs. I'll check into it. As far as an idiot...oh yes! I've been driving that curb since I was 16, so over the past 3 years I should have known better. I remember teasing all my friends about wrecking their car and their insurance jumping high. Then I end up in the hospital with a totaled car. I was the only one who never hit anything...guess my luck ran out. On the "RV track" the speed limit is 45MPH... around that bend the limit is 35MPH. A few of my coworkers received tickets for speeding around that corner to work. I've sped aorund that corner to work if I didn't see any cops, but leaving I usually kept it slow. Regrets are heavy... 3 seconds was not worth missing July and killing my car. I think shipping to 30114 will be about $15-20 since the box is heavy, I'll try to find out for you.

edit*-My brother said the jdm front was cracked and the bolt holes ripped out, I guess I can double check it.

the only mistake he made was overcorrecting.

he also was going 80 around a corner meant to be taken at 35. that was his main mistake.

would you take 275 shipped for the RUCAS?

intersted in the intake...is there anything wrong with it? will it work with a '95? how much could you do shipped to 11510? it's the injen short ram with the cold air extension in black with the injen splash guard right? thanks

2fourDsx
08-07-2005, 06:24 PM
Shipping would probably be around $30 express USPS. There are light scratches on the lowest pipe, you can't see it from the engine bay though. The pics are labeled "intake 2" in the folder. There's nothing wrong with it performance wise though. It's factory black with the cold-air extention and splash guard and it was made for a 95-96 (sensor was different on 97-98 model).

it's your open diff. I have done something similar back when I had an open diff. It catches too fast that you don't have time to correct back the steering wheel. I suggest all 240sx with modified suspension to go do some drift events. It's for your own safety and for the safety of other people. Feel sorry for you steve. Another nice kouki and a SD 240 owner gone.

I only have the parts listed... car was already cubed by the time I was released from the hospital. The junkyard only paid like $325 for my car from the towyard and it still had a perfectly good engine! Somebody came up... car only had 60,000 miles on it!

bump... check on the rims! Its might be worth it cuz its like $75/rim to repair... they still look hott

man o man... welcome to the club! I rolled my 96 prelude into a creek about 3 yrs ago... woulda had passenger splatted on the ground if i had one in there... i just got a bruised kidney and sore neck. I think i was goin like 50 on a backroad and hit gravel or sumthing... Ill just tell u wut the fireman told me: "You better go do something great [in life] cuz sumone's got a plan for you up there!" He said it kinda sarcastically/not in an encouraging tone, but I took it in an encouraging way anyway :]

The rims were pretty bad... I jumped a curb with them so the dents were pretty vicious. The centers were also powded-coated and they had some pretty bad damage to them. Well the car was gone anyways so maybe some guy bought them and had them fixed. I won't know until I see them rolling around on some other car.
