******Flame suit on****
Alrighty, so these are my work in progress pics... I just wanted to know what the other flushness nazi's (me being one of them...) thought about my new setup. its still work in progress so basically, I am figuring out a plan that I will soon be executing.
****right now the bumpers are at the shop being prepped and painted so when the are finished we will finish the rest of the car's bodywork.
I am thinking about adding some material to the rear, mabe 10mm of metal to extend the flare and be nice and flush.. becuase as it sits it is just a hair over the top for me.
keep in mind I AM adding a 15mm spacer to the front wheel*******
because right now it looks like butt.

did I mention I am adding a 15mm spacer to teh front?
ok next pic... the ass shot
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v218/sykopaath/IMG_3093.jpg
pretty damn flush if you ask me, but my question is, is it too much? or is it just right...
another...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v218/sykopaath/IMG_3095.jpg
one more... dont worry I am working the metalright now and before the end of the day it will be nice and smoothe.

Thats pretty damn good.
A little overboard but it looks like you're gonna make it work...
My fronts stick out like 5mm more then i'd like..
Running a 17x9 + 15 with a S14 LCA = 17x9 +5...
There is such a thing as too flush. It's when you cant tell where the fender ends and wheel begins.

i think you're confused.
flush- adv.
So as to be even, in one plane, or aligned with a margin.
mexican flush- adv.
So as to stick out like balls, like crap, or aligned with suckage.
at least you're tryin.
is there such thing as too flush?
easy answer
NO.
that's like Extra Medium. Aka, a dumb ass statement to make. What you have is the opposite of flush, it sticks out alot. Get over fenders or flare the fenders ALOT, because that shit is not working.
nigel1
08-04-2005, 03:49 PM
so its ok? or is it mexican flush? LOL ROFL
the only way you could save it is to lower it so far that you can't see the tire anymore and the lip of the rim is 1mm away from the..err.. from that thing. used to be a fender.

It looks good, if you get the body work straight it'll be fine. Just make sure everything sits clean, and from the looks of it, you don't wanna run flares, just pull it a lil more, and smooth it out, other than that, it looks dope.

You guys have some serious issues. The car WILL look great when it's finished.
Just because you guys have never seen a fender modified like he is doing it doesn't mean it won't look nice when finished.
The way he modded his fender will give the apperance of the car being lower, and wider since there is more surface to flare.
OMG! He didn't throw a fender roller on it and do the same thing everone else has done before.. it looks so stupid! Ignorant ass people.

I love the mutilated rear fenders. Its always worth it to kick the shit out of the sheet metal of your car for some wheels and a trend.
sorry being way too negative...
I think it looks good, it'll look even better once the car is finished. right now it looks like its waged war on a small country but after maybe some fender flares? you'll be alright.
You're ignorant for thinking anyone's ignorant for thinking he's ignorant, while he asked what people thought of his work.

the specs of the wheels isn't the problem i don't think...it's the body work that was done. that doesn't look like very much of a pull, and it looks like shit. i know you said you're working the metal still, but IMO it is not pulled nearly enough. i don't even know how you managed to make it look like that, when mine were done, they never lost their smoothness...
justinhustle

not even close to flush
without over fenders it wont come close
now it just looks like youre trying to win the "i have the biggest wheels lowest offset on an s14/tiny dick syndrome" contest

That's cuz he didn't just put a fender roller to the fender. He "unpeeled" the fender out from where it is folded into the wheel wheel. Then, with the extra material to work with, it looks like he's flaring it out further.

He's bangin it out old school style with a hammer/dolly from the looks of it. Hard to tell from pics, but is 10mm enough? Looks like a 15-20mm flare would be more like it.

post pics when its done though, maybe it'll look better.
he actually did the opposite of fender rolling, which is kind of neat. I hope that shit turns out looking better than it does now, b/c right now, it looks like ass.
P.S. cut out the fender and mold in some cool looking flares on it.

I'm attempting to do the "flush" thing myself. Luckily I only ordered one set of tires, the 275's. Looks like I'll be haveing to use 255s.

This guy, like someone else said, completely UNROLLED the fenders. The problem this guy is having is not related to his super big wheels, its because he didnt know what the hell he was doing when he started pulling his fenders.

Its the ait b-magic fender. AIT sucks ass and sent my fenders in a box that looked like a 2 year old had taped up...holes everywhere. The fenders were damaged badly but I opted to do all the fiberglass/bondo body work myself to repair them rather than wait another MONTH to get undamaged fenders. sorry for the rant...
They are 30mm fenders though and can take a lot of meat, with some massaging they will look sweet.
To the poster, you should seriously look into buying rear overfenders, it may be a better option for you than trying to repair the mess you've gotten yourself into ( I applaud your effort though :)). Check out the pics section and take a look at my rear over fenders from origin...very good quality stuff.

Nice job. I don't like flushness. But yours looks like, to me, overkill.
But nice job with the metal managing.

You should have never unpeeled your fenders. You should have torched them, rolled them, torched them, pulled them, and slammed the car until it was tucking a little tire. Right now, you have no choice but to weld more metal on there or just go and get some over fenders.

looks sick. but i hope your rear suspension is stiff so you dont squat and have the metal dig into your tire.

not enough metal to do pull the inner fender. i tried :/ comes out like shit, similar to your current pics. if you want to pull the fender more using only the stock metal, you need to seperate the inner and outer fender skin, trim the inside back, and get a fender roller on the outside skin. it will go out mighty far.

What he should be worrying about is the massive dents that will start appearing below the windows due to chassis flex and doing the improper way of flaring fenders. :nono: that metal is rolled like that for a reason, that is why 'everyone else' goes the normal route. have fun looking good until you encounter inclines and uneven pavement and watch the chassis look dented in. only way I can see is by going behind the fender and welding in more steel to help strengthen the chassis you just significantly weakened to delay the inevitable. then toss on flares like everyone else said.

where are the pics?
the purpose of that inner fender lip is to provide strength from buckling. Rolling it in reduces it some, but not nearly as much as pulling it out like that. Your fender is about as strong as a coke can now. Good luck with that!

Thanks for all the comments! this is what I wanted actually. its coming along good and I almost got all the raggedness out of it. I have to go to work so I cant post pics at the moment. I have come to the conclusion that I will be adding more metal to the lip to extend it a little, to bring the flare almost to the rim. probably about 10-15mm away from the actual rim.
one thing is for sure, it WILL look fuckin great.
I like the mexican flushness, but it is a little overkill for me even. so it has to go.
I cant wait to post pics of the finished product. :D

actually I can hammer on it for a while without it even moving the slightest. the metal has to be heated up for it to even budge.
so coke can strength is a negative.

Another key to flushness is ride height. You can get the perfect offset, and the perfect stretch on the tires, but if your ride height is too high(like above) it can't be considered uber flush. If course some people(like me) have different priorities than flushness....like maybe umm..SHOCK TRAVEL! :)

This whole thread sucks. The "fender pulling" sucks. The 1249275 definitions of flush suck. The begging for attention from the guy sucks. The title of the thread sucks. And the need to mutilate a car to achieve someone else's ideal image sucks.
You all suck.
