OK, I just started stripping out my 240 SX tonight (1989 coupe) and got all of the interior pieces taken care of. However, I was wondering what methods people used to take care of the sound deadening materials on the floop pan and fender wells? Any experiences are appreciated.

Dry ice always works.
Or alcohol and a torch.

Just trying to help...
If you're going to daily drive it. Don't do it! Cuz it makes your ride so noisy. Trust me I know.
But if you're coo wit that. then... :rawk:

Dry ice. Right when you lay it on the sound deadening you'll start to hear it crack. Let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then use hammer+chisel on it and it'll break off in big chunks.

A how to sticky would be a great idea. Tried searching and got some WTB ads and a few people saying it was a bad idea. However, I'll just say now that this car will ba a track car and not a daily driver. I might drive it on the road every once in a while, but not every day, although I agree with 95zilvia. This would ba a bad idea if it was my DD. So, Dry ice huh? How much dry ice do you suppose I would use?

20 bucks worth is good enough for the trunk & rear passenger. i had more trouble with the front driver&passenger where the dry ice did nothing to the sound deadening
a rubber mallet works pretty good to break it when its hardened

80lbs of the cubed type, not the blocks. Final cleaning with gas, heavy degreaser, good off and an SOS pad or steel wool.
