quite a few months back i bought a '90 240sx on ebay for $711. It only had 120k miles on it, minor rust, and a blown transmission. I figured a little rust couldn't hurt anything, and i didn't care about the tranny cause i was convert it all to a 5spd and drop in the engine and tranny from my '91 240sx that i had crashed a month or two prior to my buying the '90. Well... i get the car to find out that the windshield as three large cracks in the windshield, the door has some bondo in it and there is a little bit more rust then i had originally thought. I get the car home and start to work on it only to notice that the whole subframe is rusted out! Some of it even has holes in it... I had big plans for the car but because the car was so rusted out ( i accidently put my finger through the bottom of the trunk while scraping some rust away w/ my finger) its only good enough to be a beater.. Or unless someone has a lot of money and love 240's.. but i lack the money. So after another month or two of letting this car sit in my garage i finally found an auto-tranny out of an '89 for something like $300. Well after a lot of struggling and frustration the car actually moves. I really couldn't believe it. So now i gotta try and sell this thing and get my money back so i can pick up a decent 240. I'm never buying off ebay again. NEVER.

I don't think you quite understand the condition the subframe is in... it has holes in it. Some of it just flakes away. Sanding and primer wouldn't do much. Although i wish i had the time, money, and equipment to do it because other than that the engine is in beautifull condition. Runs like a champ and you could eat right outta the engine bay its so clean and the interior is beautiful as well but then that takes us back to the subframe... such a shame.

i smell a parts car! sell all decent or good pecies on ebay or some shit or keep some for yourself....youll make more profit like that. then just sell the rest to a junk yard

i just put a tranny in it! I don't wanna part it out now. I've never done it before and i really didn't have all the "proper" tools to do it all, so i had to borrow some from other people. I'm proud that the dumb thing moves. I'm just gettin rid of it all at once and soon.
