take off (+) & (-) cables for awhile.(-) First.
I don't think resetting the ecu will help your
problem. The ecu has a self learning mode
and if it didn't fix the a/f ratio by now you
got another problem.Try to check if you have any codes
being throwed out. Try checking your timing also.

If you take off the positive and negative cables, you must wait 24 hours to reset itself.

No, you do not have to wait 24 hours. Not even an hour. And Please search. If you did, you would find the answer long ago.

This info came from http://www.nicoclub.com. I hate NICO, but they own the domain 240SX.org. The FAQs on 240SX.org is pretty useful, but they have transferred all the data onto the nicoclub.com server. So for your viewing pleasure, how to reset the ECU:

"Find the computer(Behind the plastic piece by the passenger foot
Pull it out
Turn your key to the on position
You will see a flathead screw looking bolt on 1 side of the computer. Turn this fully clockwise
Wait at least 2 seconds
Turn it back to fully counterclockwise
This will then show the trouble code - (The check engine light will blink to show this, for instance, blink..blink..blink......blink..blink, will be 32)
After you read the code, you can start the engine
Turn the bolt back to the clockwise position for at least 2 seconds(While running)
Turn it back to the counterclockwise position
Now shut the car and then start it again, this should of removed the code."
