turn on lights, connect neg on voltmeter to any ground (battery, engine, etc), connect positive to one of the 2 wires for the headlights....also, get an FSM and you wont have to ask what wires go where

You never heard of black as ground?

There's two wires behind the blub, is it really that complicated to figure out what they are?

well, i got it solved... but yeah, i know black is neg/ground and red is pos..
but im asking about the harness , by that i mean the wires that are attached to the bulb , the low beam bulb, those have no colors...

The have no colors? So what are they, transparent?

Seems strange, every S14 I've worked on has had red/green (HI, Pside), red/blue (LO, Pside), red/black (HI, Dside), red/yellow (LO, Dside), and black (GND) at the headlight plugs. Guess yours just has bare wires throughout the harness or something.
