I did a 5sp swap on my 240sx its a 1995 and when I did I had to get the 5sp ecu for the car so now I have a 5sp ecu from an s14 but I am not sure if it is the right ecu when I look up parts interchangablity on car-part.com to find a used ecu because I think mine is causing the car to idle rough it keeps throwing code for maf even though the maf is a new unit and its either the ecu or harness and I let a friend with a '96 borrow it and his car is doing the same kinda rough idle and sputtering off idle that my car is doing so I assume its the ecu. So now my question are all s14 ecu's the same or do I need to go by the production date and get one for my specific month and year because thats how car-part.com is broken down.

not all s14 ecu's are the same.. early 95 was OBD1... later 95 was OBD2.... 96 was OBD2... 97 and 98's are a lil different.. i forgot how.... and there OBD2...
so... look at your engine and find out if its OBD1 or OBD2.. i see you have a 95...
if you have a early 95.... i guess you should of gotten a OBD1.. s13 DOHC ecu if anything...(may require slight rewiring) other wise you need a early 95 OBD1 ecu....

91-94 ECU will not run a 95 without a lot of changes.
