twist around and slide/pull out gently if you don't want to take stuff apart

i was lazy so i just did it that way....you might get a small crack but not a big deal unless you're picky.

did you remove the 2 bolts that hold up the steering column? If you did you should be able to push that down far enough to get the guage trim out.

hey!, i just did this last night. Make sure u take out the 2 12mm bolts that hold up the steering column. It makes it soo much easier. Just pull on that plastic piece in front of the cluster. You might think that you're gonna break it, but u wont. Just ask if u have any other questions

Yup I just had to remove my dash/instrument panel too, and that tilt thing is right in the way. You can pull the little plastic handle off but even then there will be a metal stud in your way. Take off the bolts that hold up the steering column and it will drop the wheel low enough to get the panel out.

Great site when I removed my dash for interior swap.

Dash removal (http://www.jdmrice.com/web/frame.htm)

Shows the locations of the steering column bolts and a step-by-step to get the gauge cluster out.... and the dash if need be. Now I can get it out in 20 minutes... only because I didn't test out the cluster before starting the car. So when I put it all back together and no input to the cluster, had to remove it and play w/ the wiring, its definitely something there, but I've got my techtom telling me how fast I'm going and what RPM.

Good luck!
