I have been doing the final steps for my install today since 7 this morning Greaser and I worked on it all day till like 30 minutes ago everything is connected pinnouts changed everything plugged up that we could see wires from ecu to the dash matched up. 300zx tt fuel pump installed. The car will start for not even a second and then shut off. Fuel pump is coming on, it has fuel pressure. I even drained old gas and put fresh gas in tank. I am using a full factory uncut SR harness. Greaser is not using a harness so he is clueless And I am even more . Any common mistakes or suggestions Please. I am trying to get it to run tonight.

Sorry, and good luck!

Sounds dumb (i can't remember how the sr is set up, with coils right?) but is the engine firing in order?

check the battery =b sometimes the wires r warn, causing it to turn just a bit, and stop

damn that sucks, i got lucky mine started up first time.
Make sure the ecu is screwed down all the way. Did you set the timing? Its real tricky so it may be a little off.
make sure the ignitor is hooked up right, i have a 5 pin orange plug going in and a 4 pin orange plug going out.
I checked to make sure mine was firing buy pulling one of the coil packs and a spark plug and turning it over to make sure there was a spark.

Sounds like a timing problem...

I've troubleshot a problem similar to that and I narrowed it down to a bad airflow meter. The car would start for about a second and then it would just die.

Alright guys first of all I want to thank Greaser, Yury, And Jason at unstable and everyone else that racked thier brain. After 2hours of trouble shooting everything had power it was firing so i dumped a capfull of gas in one cylinder it started right up hence i was not getting fuel!!!! although the new 300 tt fuel pump was coming on fine.so after staring at my other sr motor and my engine compartment I noticed (drum roll please) the fuel line that was supposed to go to the fuel rail was going to fuel pressure regulator keeping it closed. Hence the guy that switched my motors just hooked the fuel lines up backward. ok so were idiots for overlooking that but thats what happens when you work on a car for 12 hours with 2 people working on it!!!!
So Greaser you did a good job as far as wiring the stock harness on your first try considering you lost your virginity with my stock harness!!!
so any way if some one wants to give out the idiot of the year award I will take it I guess.
But hey my almost 2 year project has turned into a bad *** ride . So being a idiot is minimul!
needless to say im am a happy MOFO.
