HKS Vein Pressure Controller

How come more people don't go this route. I havn't really priced these units, I found one on ebay that a guy was selling for about $200. Are there any down falls to using this? I just ran into it and I figured some one on here has to know a little about them.

I use one on my supra. Replaces the MAF. It still piggybacks the stock ecu. Made my car run a lot better (smoother idle w/ cams, quicker spool)

I'm still not sure what to use on the 240, probably just tuned ecu and AFCII. GL w/ your choice.

^ what?

The VPC (vein Pressure Converter) deletes the factory maf and uses a map and IAT sensor so your car has better management of air flow and is unrestricted. For a brand new price of over $450, its not worth it. If you get a good price on it, there is a shop here in town that has installed about 10 of them and have nothing but good things to say about them.

I had one on my MR2 turbo, Ditched that nasty flapper door MAS. Car spooled faster and induction was much louder. Never had any problems with it. I would put one on my SR if i could get it cheep. Most of them in new conditon run around $900. Then $100 for the plug and play harness (+ the install of a air pressure and temp sensor on your manifold somewhere) Like someone said earlier, HKS has discontinued production of the VPC, BUT they do still support the parts for it (sensors ect..).

What's a vps?

And yes, it does work great on my old toyota, got rid of my restrictive MAF and let my T61 breathe a lot better.

doesnt the VPC need a rom specific to the vehichle? From what i am told sometimes they burn out and youll have to get another rom burnt. Happened on my friends MKIV supra. If this makes no sense, im thinking of something else.
