View Full Version : Broke a screw, help

I was changing my spark plugs yesterday and was tightening up one of the screws when the head broke off. So now I have the shaft of a screw stuck in my valve cover. I'm assuming the best way to get it out is to remove the valve cover and then try to get at it. I've never removed the valve cover though, and I don't know if there's anything I need to be aware of. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

go to Ace and get an extractor if you don't want to take off your valve cover.

Yeah, best bet is probably to try a screw extractor. Drill out the center and use one of these guys:
