Yesterday I was playing Gran Tursmo 3 against one of my friends and I had my souped up RX-7 that was lowered and had like 700hp and lots of mods. I forget what map it was but I started to just drive crazy and I drifted on almost everyturn. Only problem is its hard to countersteer using the analog buttons. I need to get a steering wheel.
I also drifted in one of the liscence test (I-A final test). It is the one where you get a White Mine's Skyline GT-R R34 and you have to go through like all these full circles that get smaller and smaller the farther you get. I started using the hand break and my car started to drift and my tires smoked throughout every circle, I watched the replay over and over, it was real nice.
Just fealt like sharing that with everyone. Anyone else have any GT3 drifting experiences (I Love doing rally races, you get to drift so much and looks cool with the smoke).
yea, I used to do that quite often, I would use an S15, S13, or an AE86 though. I acutally just stopped racing and would just drift the cars I would build. But that was months when I had a PS2, its a shame my b#itch of an ex-girlfriend decided it as a "gift" to her, so I lost all my $hit including the nice Sony Vega I had with it....

Goojob!
In GT2, I remember that liscence test...Yeah...or something similar to it...you get a WRX...you can drift in it pretty easy if you do it right.
its way easier to drift with the wheel...

The easiest way to setup a car to drift in GT3 is buy LSD (fully customizable), get weight reduction only up to 2 (don't do 3 or car will be too light). Try to get as much HP out of the car (you don't have to but you can if you want). Then change your ride hieght to lowest, and change Limited Slip deceleration to almost max. That will get your rear end to slip real easily. I have read in several places that getting high traction tires for the front tires and low traction for the rear wheels, or just getting simulation tires. That will get your car to slip a lot and get your front tires to handle better. Use those settings as a guideline and then tweak it till you get the perfect settings. Keep in mind that different leves require different settings (so it helps to save and label your settings).
All my drifts were full drifts. I haven't tried drifting in my Skyline yet but it shouldn't be much difficult. Go to GameFaqs (http://www.gamefaqs.com) for a drifting FAQ with settings for several different cars.
I honestly love the RX-7 as drifter, I got an MR2 but I need to get good settings because it spins out a lot

damn, I sold my GT3 for some DVD. I remember drifting like crazy in 86's and S15's. I tried to drift in purely stock cars with no mods in 2 player battle. You know the 86 rocks but does anyone know that it can be one of the fastest cars in the game? AND you get Takumis at the end for the last car? Uhuh. I think I need to go get that game again. *sniffle* *sniffle*

NO SHIT! I bought that sucker for 60 bucks and only got 10 when I sold it at Gamepro. damn YOU EB!!!!
Oh well, thanks for filling me in.
Mike
Sorry it took so long to reply ,
I'm asking $2200 obo, the damage is actually on the bumper itself, so its popped in.
Just wanna get rid of it, I like my S13 more and the S14 needs more work than I care to spend on it. It needs some engine work too, it idles rough.
I sold the R cuz I had enough fun with it, I wanted something RWD and turbo'd. and besides enough of them are getting stolen around here to start worrying.

another tip for those of you who don't drive stick in the game. Hold the R2 button and let the car go past redline (only works in high HP cars). I found that this shaved off some numbers in the 1/4 mile.

drifting rx7's in real life it is tuf. very quarky rear end seems to catch at random, hard to predict. this is on a stock rx7 w/ bald tires only one i've driven. oh well it has gotta be one of the coolest cars ever damn sexy, great handling, needs like 50 more hp though.

Here's my GT3 Drift Video, 'Gran Dorifto'... go to http://www.driftcore.com and grab it from the Videos section. I'm starting work on a sequel right now, but it probably won't be completed for a few months at least.
Some of my old drift car settings: http://www.themaille.com/hgt....um=1&21 (http://www.themaille.com/hgt/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=664114&forum=1&21)
Suspension isn't all that important in some cases. Some of my newer drift cars have stock suspension (NSX, 180sx, Vanquish). It's always a good idea to put on sim tires, full custom LSD, weight reduction, clutch/flywheel/trans, and turn ASM/TCS off.

Hey you guys, I have an XBOX, and you have to check out World Rally Championship, drift heaven. Drift on raods, mud gravel and even ice. I love it. Too bad our cars are not in it, although I never unlocked all the cars. Then someone stole it from the video store. Guess I;ll have to buy it.
