I'm replacing the high pressure line of my A/C since it randomly snapped. (line after compessor to the firewall behind exhaust mani).
Now this is on a 97 KA, I know you should replace the dryer if the A/C system has been cracked open, but I can't find a dryer for the 97+ 240's listed anywhere and the FSM hasn't been much help. All I can find is dryers for 94-96, before the pressure fitting were all changed for the 97-98's....
Is there still a seperate dryer unit on the 97+ S14's?

You can get away with reusing the drier if it's been opened only a short time, however I know you've been looking for some time for a line so you're out on that end.
Drier is in the same place on all S14s (even S13s) and it should cross over from 95-98. The lines fittings are the same I know.

Thanks Russ. That's what I was wondering, as all the fittings for the lines were changed in 97 and I can't find anyone who lists a part for anything above a 96.
Damn, I was hoping to reuse the old one, but the high pressure line has been off the compressor for 2 months now.....
I'll just have to drop 80$ on the 96 one and hope it works.

EDIT: Bingo. (looks like they changed mid 1997 somehow?)

A/C Receiver-Drier Part numbers...
95-96 #92131-70F60
97-98 #92131-6P160

I think the only difference between the two is one has a sight glass & the other does not. Not sure though.....R240NA would know though...he knows alot!!! :werd:

Just went over to Napa and spent 34$ on one. Much cheaper than the 80$ for the Nissan or 4 seasons ones.
Thanks for your help.

I was curious about this so I dug out a few driers from my pile of aluminum, I've got a 97, 95, and 93, the S14s both have flat bottoms while the S13 has a cone shaped bottom, the 95 has an extra port that's plugged on top, but all three have the same line outlets and thread pitch for the triple pressure switch so any of them would work I believe. Nissan just did a weird changeover just like a lot of parts that don't look any different but apparently are either manafactured different or have some sort of upgrade that's not visible.

The S14 plastic hood cowl was changed in mid 96 and the retail price dropped from over $210 down to $86, I've got several hanging on the wall and they all look identical, nothing even remotely noticeable to explain the difference. Who knows.

Don't buy replacement drier's from Napa. Napa brand and the other AG brand they carry do not fit (at least on my 97) The ports for the lines are about 3mm too small and the lines don't fit.
Maybe there's the difference from other years? (either way Napa has the same part number for all years.. so no dice for me)
