me vs 02' camaro z28?

i have a 92 fastback 240 with a blacktop, t25, fmic, chipped ecu, larger injectors, 3.5 inch exhaust, no cat, no muffler, orthodox pullies and flywheel, heavy 19 in wheels (i bought the car this way, all mods done by last owner). guy claimed it ran high 13s (7psi), and said with drag radials and a vlsd it would do low 13s easy. (7psi boost). anyways my buddy Big C has a 02' z28 and wants to race for 50 bucks, do i have a chance? he only has a catback and tuner software, btw he is a automatic on bald tires. what do u all think? my 240 came with a apexi boost controller.. should i up the boost a tit bit?

up the boost to 14psi and race him. you might have a chance.
your car does do high 13s if you're a good driver. Now if you have slicks, you can pull high 12s or very low 13s at 14psi. it's been done, search on this forum.

lol yea big c is big.. like 6'4 and 330 lbs. im not that good at driving, just got my license 3 months ago. we're going to race tomorrow night, so il post what happened. theres a straight road that alot of street racing happens, its up north but theres never any cops there.

i was playing wit the apexi thing, and got it to peg at 18psi, wow this car feels 3 times faster. i think il set it to 21psi when i race this guy.

i beat a 96 ss, and a few midly modded z28s with my old neon! c'mon guys, and it only ran a 14.2 all motor and i pulled on 3 gt's as well ( alot more but 3 00-03 gt's)


yea i do know about those v-8's trust me, my buddy has a ls1 in a 88 FC .. zo6 intake manifold, a mean cam, 100 shot, drag radials, and a badass clutch.. he's capable of high 10's on spray and low 12s all motor.. but the sr is quite a competior aswell, but yea stock boost may be a stretch

yea, thats definitely gonna kill your turbo quickly. once you pass 14-15 psi your turbo isnt efficient anymore, so just put it at 14 and let it be.

The stock t-25 has a "hot spot" between 15-27psi. But once you get it past 27psi the VE of the turbo picks back up and ambient temperatures in the orifice decrease exponentially with each psi over the threshold. Just make sure you shift hard enough to keep the boost up there around 35-40psi. Since you have bigger injectors you should be able to pull it off with no sweat.
