get a donut box, foam popcorn and duct tape. pillow the turbo, close box. Tape it completely shut, stuff into another box thats also pillow'ed. my buddy ordered a turbo, and when it got to us, it was kinda... salvaged from lack of workers knowing what 'fragile' meant.
FYI, in the shipping yard, they WILL chuck your shit around. I know, my buddies have worked at FedEx and i see em chuck shit all the time.
Or you could always do GreyHound. I've heard they are a little more gentle.

jesus, gotta make a post on how to ship stuff?
if your unsure on how to ship something, pay them to do it and have the buyer pay for it as well. they will package your stuff for you to ensure that it passes
make a wood box and cover it up and hsip the thing. stuff crap inside so it doesnt fly around, newspaper is fine.
tell the buyer to pay for insurance. nobody can tell you how much it cost to shiop something. go to the carriers website and enter in the dimensions and weight time and date of shipment and get a quote

The best way to ship a turbo is to fill the housing and turbine areas with either expanding foam or sand so you dont waste precious turbine wheel revolutions and wear down the bearings, just by shipping! Your buyer will much appreciated this added gesture. BTW shipping an S15 turbo east to weast coast was like $22.

SHipping a sandfilled turbo? Maybe im reading it wrong. So im just going to leave it as 'WTF?'
SHipping isn't hard. MAKE SURE you pack it in, so it won't fly. Again, i stress that.
Make friends at FedEx or UPS or whatever. HOpefully, its not smashed to crappola when he gets it.

Cost me a total of $13 dollars to ship out my tdo5h. I just found a box at work shoved some bubble wrap in there, put the turbo in, and ten put bubble wrap on top of the turbo.

you've never been on a forum have you...
My gt28rs came in a single box from garret, they use expanding foam so the packaging is filled completely to the shape of the turbo, dunno where to get that kinda stuff though.

Home Depot, though your box better be strong. It should also go without saying that you should also wrap the turbo in plastic before filling the box with expanding foam.
