Personally, I started here:

(that was your easily-located freebie, thank Absolut vodka, bedtime is coming soon)
... now for the small variables, I searched "DOHC swap" and similar terms and read EVERY thread until I found my answers... I didn't have to do much searching, it is oft-discussed around here, especially in the last few months

No, no, no...
Don't try to use the S14 wiring harness and ECU...that's makes it 200 times more difficult.
Find an S13 harness and ECU...plug and play under the hood, and splice 8 wires under the dash (color for color, leave 3 disconnected). Super Easy.

i already have the ecu and wiring harness from the s14. and installed. the question is do i leave the s13 ecu wires there and run the s14 ecu.

Holy shit. You are the worst fucking reader ever.
S13 ECU and harness. Plugs right in outside, a few repins inside.
Or S14 ECU and harness, extensive rewiring, pinning, extending all ECCS plug connectors, removal of wiper wiring, etc, etc.
If you can't even follow these simple instructions on this forum then there's no way in hell you'll ever get the car running.

Was the car auto? Or did it have cruise? Plug for one of those maybe.

How many new threads did you see me create outside of off topic?

it could not be one of those. there are like 20-35 wires coming out of it that go to the engine bay. it looks like you would plug it into an ecu but it is to small. ?????

Tool, stop hitting the 'create new thread' button, or I'll take it away from you.

Negatron, because (as I stated in that thread) I used all S13 DOHC electrical components (ECU/engine harness/MAF, etc) on the S14 motor. Getting it to work in the SOHC chassis was a snap.

While I had that motor in the car (before changing to SR), it ran perfectly.
What do you mean 'what you said with the ecu'?
