Hey guys, I'm new to the forum. I'm really interested in the 240SX/Silvia conversion. I live in British Columbia, Canada. I've been lookin around and some sites say that the SRDET20 engine is illegal for street use? Is that just for the US or does that apply to Canada too? If it is illegal, have any of you ran into trouble w/ the authorities? Thx.

Welcome to the Forum!~
In the us it is illeagal to replace your stock engine with one that is older. However you can get by with it. It's just a matter of passing emmisions really.

Ok cool, I'll just go for it, the RCMP are too dumb to figure out what type engine it is anyways.

it's legal in Canada... no such thing as emissions here.
There are a few SR20'd 240s in Vancouver.
We have like 4 in Calgary.

So is it illegal then Roast? I don't really care if it is, I'm still going to do the swap, I just want to know so I can be extra careful.
