$2.43/gallon at the middle of the ground-priced places between my house and my job for 93 octane... On the far side of town, near the airport, it is $2.3x or so, and in the middle of the city it can go over $2.50, I only fill up once a week and I go to that far side of town every tuesday morning, so my fillup ran me $20.25 tuesday.

"So, you think a gallon of gasoline is expensive? Well, here's a few things that Autoweek brought to the public's attention to compare.

"This is what it costs to buy a gallon of.....

* Diet Snapple - 16 oz for $1.29 = $10.32 a gallon
* Lipton Iced Tea - 16 oz for $1.19 = $9.52 a gallon
* Gatorade - 20 oz for $1.59 = $10.17 a gallon
* Ocean Spray - 16 oz for $1.25 = $10.00 a gallon
* STP brake fluid - 12 oz for $3.15 = $33.60 a gallon
* Vick's Nyquil - 6 oz for $8.35 = $178.13 a gallon
* White Out - .7 oz for $1.39 = $254.17 a gallon
* Scope - 1.5 oz for $0.99 = $84.84 a gallon

... and this is the real kicker........

* Evian water - 9 oz for $1.49 = $21.19 a gallon........

$21.19 FOR WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"So next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on White Out!!!"

but then again... the average person does not normally use up a gallon white out compared to the time a person uses up gas.

Y'all is some crybabies.

$2.98 for "premium" gasoline, 91 octane. (highest you can get from most pumps in CA)

Yeah, thats right, basically $3 a gallon.

But the Brits pay $5+ IIRC, so who am I to complain.

And then again, who buys Snapple by the gallon? Or Whiteout by the gallon?

Gas prices will continue to go up, regardless.

There was a letter i got a while back. Being as Mobil/Citron are the #1 gas providers, if you told people to not get Mobil, and shop somewhere else, they'd have to lower their prices to get customers back, etc etc. I didn't think it would work. SO i started stayin home more. And telling people to come to my house instead of the other way around.

and also that you dont drink gallons of snapple and use gallons of white out on a regular basis...people that can afford to spend that much on that stuff can afford gasoline...the guy that used to work with me is on welfare, worked 3 jobs and used to commute to work 30 miles...he no longer works because he cant afford the gas and im pretty sure he cant afford gallons of snapple or evian water...sucks doesnt it :bash:

Damn right! Over here, gas costs aprox. $1.60 for a litre (98 octane, normal pump gas). Iirc, 4 litres is 1 gallon. So that's about $6.40 for a gallon... 95 octane is 'bout $1.55, for a litre. You don't get smaller octane number than 95 over here. And 75% of that price is just plain god damn tax.

I think gasoline under 90 octane is shit quality, especially for a turbo car. Damn, thats worse than that piss they have in Russia for pump fuel...

I envy your prices though..

I paid $5.60/gallon here in Australia yesterday. Actual cost is about 20-30% more than American dollar price.
This is for 98 octane; BP Ultimate. We also have Premium Unleaded (PULP) which is 96 octane and 3 cents cheaper.
Do You guys get any high octane petrol? From your posts, it seems your fuel is much lower octane than what we get here?

Are you guys all running turbos, don't you have detonation problems running low octane fuel?

There are certain ways to get around that, i.e. rich. (right guys?)

also, about 10 years ago we had a higher octane, 95+ IIRC, but it's gone down due to the very strict emission standards, esp. in California.
