Last weekend i figured i would go for my first real attempt at sliding corners entrance to exit, i did so successfully only a couple times, but i am getting there. This was my frist real drifting attempt also, i've only had my car since May, so please dont be too harsh on me.
This was also my first time using this program for editing, so please bear with me.
Good video =D
why does it sound like you have a messed up blower tho

You know, i'm not really sure lol. i have been wondering that also, i am almost positive it has something to do with having a stock SMIC and a Blitz Stainless Steel mesh intake filter. The air is catching turbulence somewhere and making that annoying goofy noise. I am going to take the filter off and drive it down my street once or twice sometime next week, so i can see if it is the filter making the noise.

Here's what I noticed about noob drift vids.
1. Gay ass music
2. Shitty powerslides
3. Sliding in dirt
4. Dolls hanging from tow hooks
5. Hands out the window trying to look like a D1 superstar
You are pretty much gonna see one of these things in noob drift video and you managed to do all 5. Congratulations. Next time, do this.
1. Use good music
2. Actually drift
3. Drift on pavement
4. Hang women's undergarments from your tow hook
5. Keep your hands in the window and focus on driving

Yeah I don't really get into the whole dirt road drifting, yeah it is great for practice but don't post that shit up in my opinion. I also think adding the Initial D music and super JDM gorilla made the video a little cheasier. And I am with flybert keep your hands on the wheel especially if you have only had the car since may and you don't even know how to drive that well yet.....I don't mean to come off as a jerk this is just how I feel about the video.

wow, ya'll are some critical sons a bitches, damn. The road was not dirt, it was an asphalt road in a rock quarry so yes, it had some gravel and dust on it. The monkey hangin from my tow hook, i didnt ven know taht was a "thing", i found the stupid fucking monkey in my room and put it on there one day cause i thought it was dumb as hell. Sorry if you dont like the music, its not my problem. And about the hand out the window, i mean shit, i was doing donutes, and jacking around having a good time. so it isnt like i was trying to control an amazing drift. I never claimed to be a good driver, like i said this was my very first attempt ever. so if you have any tips for me, entering a corner, techniques etc, please share them. I wont ever improve, and and get out of the "newbie" stage if you just keep telling me im a fucktard.

Thank you. Yea, that night was the first nite i tried clutch kicking, and because i love my car and am new to it, i am still very timid entering corners very fast, and with a huge angle. That is why i am out doing this shit though, to get better at it, and to have fun. I will never be a D1 driver, so why even try to get there, i just wanna have fun.
Oh yea, and if any of you who posted in here have any videos of you drifting, please share them.
take some videos in the day time. I know it was a little hard, at least for me, to see anything.
also, go as big and as fast as you can safely, theres not much you're going to break on a flat surface.

I will try to get some vid's in the day time, but that road i was sliding on has traffic on it from the quarry during the day time, so my only option is at night. and like i said, that really was my first try at it, so i was very timid to enter corners fast, but as the night went on i grew more comfortable. And its not the flat surface i am scared of, it was the gravel parking lot next to the road that i didnt want to drop into, and on any otehr corner i am usually a bit intimidated by trees and 8" tall curbs.

Here's a tip, don't make a drift video and post it on a message board, then get butt hurt when people rag on you about it.

hahah lol.
well if youre gonna drift in the street, secluded area, and you wanna get better, youre gonna need balls. Try going to a track if you want to get better cause theres nothing to be afraid of and you can just let it loose. You'll also get a better feel for your car out there since you have way more time to get used to it.
cool vid. Can't see much tho :( Btw is that a hks hiper? MMmm... i like what is it?

day time would be a LOT better for us to be able to see the street you are sliding on. you wanna do donuts? go grab a cone and do 'controlled' donuts around it. helps you find ur reference point i.e. learn how to look at where you want to go, and be able to control the car around the cone without hitting it. um.....the road you are sliding on looks like it has a lot of gravel on it, what were you doing, powering over or clutch kick or pulling the ebrake a little or what? try different techniques to figure which you like best. if you are still sliding with an open diff, at least get a VLSD. It's like night and day. and shoot it in the day time next time!

It wasn't that bad, his editing was rather good for a first time, all you guys get caught up on is the negatives, when he obviously posted it for complements.
Not bad vid dude, just some better lighting, and I guess better music would've made it cooler.

If you ever want to get a feel for your cars limits in a controlled, legal, and safe environment, feel free to come out to one of our St. Louis Region autocrosses. Or better yet, if you love sliding around, there is no better place than at rallycross! ;)
