I know this sounds weird, but...I basically have this '89 hatchback and nothing to do it with it, because it's been 5 months since I gave a shop my money to get an RB20 for me to put in it, and I have yet to see anything....

But listen.

Right now, the car is sitting at his shop, and he's promised me a KA to put in it to get it running, so I can sell it, but he hasn't come through yet. HOWEVER, I could EASILY buy a running KA24, E, or DE, and put it in there, and get it running, if I had the money.

If this makes any sense...

I basically WANT to sell the car running, but I would need the buyer's money first, to do so...

This would probably work much better if the buyer were local...but in the end, I can't see a reason for it to not be possible.

Here are the car's basics.
'89 Hatchback
Seafoam Green
Gray/black Cloth Interior, including back seats, VERY clean.
No cracked dash.
Usual tear on driver's bolster.
165,XXXK on the clock.
Clean title

The car currently IS automatic, but again, if this can be worked out with the buyer, I can and will buy the parts to make it 5-speed, and perform the labor myself for no additional fee.

After EVERYHING I just said, RUNNING, 5-speed or not, I would be asking $1,500 for the car.

((I hope this makes sense))

EDIT: I would prefer to sell it running, but I will accept offers for it, as is, non-running, and automatic.

Does the battery need to be relocated?

Does the battery need to be relocated?

Relocation is definitely an option. Considering, for a motor-swap, intercooler piping would need to go through where the battery WAS.

I will agree to using the buyer's purchase money to also have a new battery tray welded in, if asked.

I don't mind.
