dont know what It is but im pretty pretty sure you dont need it, I have nothing like that on my car. that wouldnt be something to do with the auto transmission would it?, I know I had something from jecs like that but it didnt look like that. was a little different.

Shouldn't be from an auto transmission....my swap is a sr20det w/5spd. I was told it was some sort of resistor, but not sure.

thats for a auto transmission, alot of the sr's if u just get a motor set come like that, they did that to my friend, he had no pilot bushing in his crank and that was with his stuff, but thats the line pressure resistor? but any ways that the thing u unplug if u want a auto to shift HARSH

That's weird. I got a motor set....came with everything. Basically a front clip minus the frame stuff. So its not needed? Auto to shift hash?

Just to repeat what everyone said, your harness is from an auto. In order to find out if your motor is from an auto, check your TPS. If it is a 6 wire TPS, it was originally an auto. If it's a 3 wire TPS, your motor was a manual. Also, if your harness is 6 wire and your TPS is 3 wire, you are going to have a problem and you might have to hardwire them together or find a 6 wire TPS. I'm not sure what kind of SR you got but mine was a redtop and the info I posted goes along with redtop motors and maybe other SR's as well.

I have that shit strapped to the backside of my airbox (ca18det) but my car never was an auto. Dont know what it is, none of my buddies do either.

RESISTOR PACK FOR FUEL INJECTORS. thats what it is. i have this on my ca, i know a few other cars have them as well.

its a resistor, because the CA18 ECU can only drive high impedence injectors. its there so that nissan could use low impedence injectors.

Yeah, but it came with his SR20DET. On the CA18DET it is attached to the engine harness and sits down by the stock intake and P/S reservoir...that would be the dropping resistor...

However, on both the CA18DET and the SR20DET there is another one (CA18 is smaller than the SR20 one pictured in the first post) attached to the body harness and it is mounted up by where the brake booster would be if you had a RHD. I am pretty sure only the DET's came with these on the Sr20's and not the DE's. Most of you guys that do the swap probably didn't get these because they are attched to the body harness and most importers don't send that unless you got a front clip.

Now, I am not trying to act like I know exactly WTF it is, but all I know is, I had one Silvia over here (Sr20DET 5SPD) and every once in awhile after driving hard for about an hour or so the car would just die. I would pull over unplug it for awhile, let it cool down. plug it back in and then the car would be fine. Then I was told by this old Japanese tuner that you could just take it out, but you had to connect the two wires that came out of the plug(like on the harness, to complete the circuit..kinda thing) then it ran fine.

So basically, I have no F-ing idea what it is, but I didn't have one on my 240sx when I did the SR20DET swap. You need it over here when you have a SR20DET , but not in the US when you do the conversion.......so yeah it is probably a DRIFT BUTTON!!!!!

Thats because it doesn't connect to the SR harness, it connects to the actual body harness. The same harness as the headlights and the main fuseboxes...I wouldn't worry about it too much. I have yet to see someone go to the trouble of installing it into there 240sx SR conversion...
