I'm going to get an upgraded intake manifold for my S13. I was mainly considering Topspeed vs. whatever that other manifold is on ebay that people are selling for about $220.

Topspeed:

Other on Ebay:

Is that unlabeled one the same as Topspeed, just $100 cheaper? I found another thread talking about this, but noone was really sure if they are the same or not.

Also, with an aftermarket intake manifold, I'll have to get the Type-B Nismo FPR instead of the Type-A, correct?

Thanks...

You should be able to retain the type A FPR, if you stick with the stock fuel rail. The clearances are not going to be effected with the different manifold. If you do go with a different fuel rail, I would go with the type B just in case the stock style doesn't carry over. Both manifolds should be identical. They are direct copies of the Greddy unit minus the very minor raised lip around a rectangular recess on top of the real Greddy units. Greddy had a logo label applied there, but the copies do not. Quality should be identical between both fakes, but I don't know how they compare to Greddy. One company local to me was, I believe, the first to actually copy the Greddy casting, and could be the wholesale supplier to other retailers putting their name on the product.

Look for the Tamko one. I've seen them go for about $175. You better have some other mods done to your car because you will lose some low end. Anybody have any comments on how porous the metal is?Are there any leaks?

I Would Have Them Glass Beaded Smooth On The Outside To Pack The Metal Down.... There Have Been Incidents Of Leaks Through The Aluminum.

really? where do you take it to get glass beaded smooth?
I would say if you trying to get a manifold to fully do its job its better to go with the greddy one!

most media blasting or polishing places can handle the job. But everyone is right... don't skimp if you want to do it right.

well the top speed or the other ebay ones are all the same! too rough for me. the purpose of the manifold is to get you some more top end power and with the cheap manifolds i dont think too much can be accomplished! greddy one is 100% better made and looks alot better.$150 more for the greddy one i dont think its alot more to ask condisering that you dont have to polish it or bead blast it etc etc! may come out to almost the same after you get the cheap one treated!! .... for the $220 or cheaper i guess its not bad but then you might run into some problems in the long run! everyone gets different results!
