I know a lot of people want a few degrees of negative camber for their cars for drifting, but i drive across the country twice a year in my s13, and right now i just want 0 camber (or near there) so i dont wear down my michelin pilots too fast.
I have heard that you can just slot the rear upper control arm holes and save a good 300 bucks that could otherwise go into other needed mods. Has anyone done this?? Does it hold up to drifting well??
I have the sportline/blues setup, btw.

" Camber is degree in which your tires contact the road, and if its not 0 or there about, you will get bad tire wear. "
That sentence, is not correct. Your tire and suspension do things when you take a corner or when you acccelerate. I would say -.75 - -1.25 would probably give you optimal wear. Would probably handle better also.

^^^ yes. -.75 rear -1 front is somewhat very modest on tire wear.
my personal favourite, -1.25 front -1 rear for a very modest camber:)

yes i have and it's stupid. your alignment will get whacky after any amount of hard driving.
The title of your thread reads "Rear Camber"
As far as i understand you can slot it all you want but the rear upper control arm which is bolted to the top of the hub controls camber in the rear, therefore making your shock assembly bend in at the top for no reason while the RUCA keeps the camber the same.

Just the "loop thingy". The "bar thingy" is a traction rod.
www.splparts.com has awesome thingies. I got my thingies from them.

^^^ Worst SPL plug to date!
Oh well atleast your getting his name out there.
Also thier are varations on what settings accomedate each other; suspension mods, tire/wheel size weight of the car etc.. I know nothing about drifting nor will i pretend to but a rather close contact of mine is familiar with the aspects of it.
And in my opinion I would NEVER slot any of my suspension pieces.
Also, let me see if I understand this correctly- you drift yet you fear premature tire wear, or wear at all? Hmmm... Change sport perhaps.
I think if you kept up with an allignment you would be fine.

Um, camber is not what wears out tires. TOE DOES. The reason a lot of people wear out tires when they drop their car is that as the suspension compresses the rear toe increases along with camber. Its the tires pointing inward and the tops leaning inward that wears out the inner tread. If the toe was practically zero there would be no wear. Camber helps you corner by keeping the tire perpendicular to the ground as the car's body rolls. You want a slight amount of negative camber...unless all you do is drive in a straight line.

toe will fuck up tires big time... I used wheels/tires from my altima, they weren't new, but they were gone pretty damn fast...
that's why I am putting on Toe rods with RUCA, nice ajustability....

No, dont drift when driving in a straight line across the country. There is no point in wasting expensive tires for no reason... no need to be a dickfor
