Ahh, this brings back memories. I still remember the day I got my license, May 3, 1997. I purposely planned it on a school day in the morning so I could get out of my first four classes. I remember getting in the car and driving by myself for the first time. I had an 89 Mitsubish Precis four door with sunroof. I was cruising with Metallica blaring and the roof/windows open..ahhh
Good luck, man. There's nothing like the freedom of driving. Having said that, be careful because you don't want to lose that freedom. Showing off is fun, but dying or wrecking your car while showing off (or any time) just sucks. So, have fun, good luck and be careful.

just remember...parked on a hill with a curb, wheels towards the curb. no curb=wheels away from the curb. Idunno but they always ask that at our local DMV and get really pissy if you are wrong.

Depends if your facing up the hill or down the hill. -makes a BIG difference!

Yah I got my liscence! But I missed 7 periods of school! Came in 8th period to take a test and pick up my girlfriend... when I was leaving school, you know everyone was checking out the 240! Hey I also got my MR2 today. 86, red, sunroof, 5sp... I love it. It's so tiny. Cost me $200 plus $250 to tow and get fixed... not bad.

Yah, I worked my ass off for the past 2 yrs. I absolutely love the MR2. I still love the 240... but there is an allure to the car. I have always wanted a 2 seater 5sp. It's not as fast but it runs great and I paid a total of $450 for it. Gonna be doing intake, exhaust, wheels, that's it. Most likely my dad will be selling the Crapmaro and driving that, so basically can get free insurance and 1/2 on parts...

My parents wont let me drive their cars till i have full liscence and have gone to a driving school...I was hoping to go to one with BMW Canada...You drive 3series sedans, and if u pass that, you drive Race Prepped m3's and m5's if you do good
its cheap too...450 Canadian compared to like...AMA's 500 dolla where they jam you in an Automatic civic and let you just wander around town with an instructer.

yea it does make a difference. if your facing up hill w/ a curb its wheels away from the curb w/o curb wheels facing toward curb. down hill w/ or w/o curb is toward curb

Like minime686 said, yes it does make a difference. When you're parked uphill, you want the wheels to point away from the curb so that in case the brakes fail, the front right wheel will hit the curb and stop the car. If the wheels are pointed the other way, the front of the car would roll out into traffic and stay like that when the rear wheel hits the curb and stops the car. If there's no curb, however, it's better to point the wheels away from traffic so that if the brakes fail, the car ends up rolling into wherever (because there's no curb to stop the car) instead of into traffic. Into the lake or over a cliff or something. :P When parked downhill, the wheels should point away from traffic so if the brakes fail, the car rolls toward the curb and stops instead of into traffic. Or rolls into the lake or over the cliff. Anywhere but into traffic.
Edit: Nevermind what I said about the car rolling into a lake. I don't think there can be a lake next to a road on a slope. ^_^; Okay, maybe over the cliff and then into the lake. There. That works.
