I may be going to work in Iraq and will more than likely be living out of a suitcase / footlocker while I am there (looking at being there for about a year). I am just wondering if anyone here does a lot of traveling and may have some good tips for packing clothes efficiently and wrinkle free. I have done some searching and have found some tips on rolling and bundle wrapping clothes, just wondering if anyone else has any tips / ideas. Thanks.

Tips- bring an Iron

An iron would be useful but the odds are that I am going to be living in a tent city and will not have the space for even a small ironing board let alone pack it with me, also probably not to many electric outlets. As for wrinkles I just don’t want my clothes to look like they have been wadded up in a ball for a couple of weeks, a few wrinkles will be no big deal.

If you have favorite Hygiene items, bring a couple momths supply so that once people start mailing you shit it gets to you before you run out. Like your FAV deodorant, or Shaving cream, razors..etc etc.... Forget the Iron, dont need it...even if you do bring one make sure it is multiple voltage as the voltage may be 240 or 110...bring baby wipes, not lotion kind to wipe up on the go, they come in handy, bring porn to whack off, dvd's are best cause you can pass them around they dont get torn up like mags, bring plenty of baby powder to keep you cool, bring thermal underware for when its cold...
shit like that

second the socks thing. Doesn't it get really hot in Iraq? The hot air there would probably just take out all of the wrinkles as soon as you put your clothes on.

if you dont want to do the vac pack you have two other choices with everything except button down shirts (it works with some but not all) you can roll outfits together (pants with shirt on top) because it is rolled you dont have any corners and therefore no wrinkles plus it seems to take less space in your bag. you can always go the garmanet bag route as well which is basically a folding hanging bag. they are nice because it is like having a closet with you at all times makes things feel a little more like home. If you want any other tips on travel holla I am constantly on the move for work so I have figured out a few tricks
