View Full Version : JDM S14 Brakes...
Quick question... Are they an upgrade over USDM? I've got to get some new brakes and I'm just checking out my options. I've got someone who is going to look for some brakes for me in Japan and I am just wondering what to tell him to look for. I'm thinking fairlady, skyline, S14 and S15. Anything else?
Thanks in advance.

im just regurgitating what alot of other ppl have been saying
jdm s14 brakes =
certain 300zx fronts
same as ours s14 rears
15/16 master cylinder
it'd seem like overkill to get that particular setup from japan as its readily available in the states
Not if I can get it cheaper ;) Thanks for clearing that up. BTW, what would you say the average price of a full 300zx brake setup would be? It looks like this is my best option right now.

from a junkyard?
stupidly cheap. 100-150 bucks tops.
reman? i dunno.
www.autozone.com will have that answer
from performance stores?
group buy section should give you a rough idea.
OEM brand new? stupidly expensive no doubt.
www.everythingnissan.com and check prices.

Seriously? So when just front setups list for like $400 it's just for people who are too lazy to go to the junkyard?
This is friggin awesome. Didn't know it was that cheap. I was hoping you would say $500 or something.
Thanks for the help man!

i have s14 k's brakes and they are 30mm iron. i have the same exact brake setup as s14 k's sitting in my room. if it was good enough for a s14 k's in japan and coming out the factory it is more than enough

Possibly. Sometimes they're fully rebuilt/painted, etc and they're worth a little more because time has been invested, but not $400 worth.
My Z32 front/rear calipers, rebuild kits for all four, powdercoating, and new rotors and lines didn't break $300. Calipers alone were $80.

More great news! Funny thing is, the nissan dealership wanted $800 Cnd.(maybe $600 US) for replacing the rear calipers! Now, if I am smart, I can get full 300 brakes with labour for that price.
Awesome guys. Thanks again for the help. This place is much more helpful than most other forums.
